New Emeralds and Diamonds -- by State

This table is a count of new emeralds and diamonds, by state, from 1992 thru 1998. There is no way to tell the actual number of diamonds and emeralds who re-qualify year after year. At the bottom is a count of new pins above diamond since Jan 1992.

These tables should be considered as providing approximate numbers. Although I have strived for accuracy, it is the effort of one individual, so the possibility of errors does exist. Amway Corporation is the only entity who can give you accurate counts. Unfortunately, they have chosen not to release this information.

After nearly 40 years in business and breaking over 200 new diamonds just in the last 5+ years in the U.S. diamond club only has "hundreds of diamonds" (remember that Family matters message sent by DeVos?).

After nearly 40 years in business and breaking over 730 new emeralds in the last 5+ years, the Achievers International trip in 1996 could still be held on a cruise ship with slightly over a 1000 cabins.

Achieving these higher pin levels is certainly a major accomplishment. In March, 1998, investigative reporter Greg Garland, with The Advocate in Baton Rougue, LA, visited Amway's corporate offices in Ada, MI and reported that in Amway's "Hall of Distinction" listed 769 distributors who had reached the diamond level or above. Only 769 out of the millions of North American citizens who have been distributors over the last 40 years.

Now consider how difficult it must be to requalify at the higher pins. If it was easy, wouldn't there be be more than a few hundred at diamond club in Hawaii? Wouldn't they need several cruise ships to handle all those emeralds?

This, more than anything else should tell you how great "The Business" is.
