Are you helping your downline.....to make a net profit? |
Well it is tax
time again for Americans. In a little while those pesky IRS forms have to be sent
off to meet the deadline. Tax time is an interesting time for Quixtar distributors
since for many, it is the only time in the year when they see how their business is doing
financially. Oh sure, there are many business measurements the lines of affiliation like to use to measure a business such as the number of standing order tapes flowing through your downline, or the number of seminar tickets to the last big convention that you moved to your group, or even your PV. However no matter how good these other measures are, they do not tell a Quixtar distributor how profitable he/she is. Even if these other measures show great performance, a Quixtar distributor can still lose a significant amount of money in the business. In general, those line of sponsorship measurements will run counter with distributor net profitability.
I have always suggested that the measure of a good leader in the Quixtar business is not how much money he makes or how big his group is, but how much profit per IBO his group is reporting on their taxes. How many Quixtar leaders or uplines have actually polled their group to see how much money their group was making net? For you as an upline, do you really care if your downline distributors are losing money in the business? If you are a truly ethical upline, what are you doing to help your downline make a true net profit? If you want to help your group improve you need to at least know where they are. I suggest you ask your downline distributors what their net profit is, so that it can be a benchmark for improvement in future years. What an upline teaches, has a great impact on the expenses spending habits of their downline. After all, new distributors are taught to follow the teachings of those who are "successful" in the business. On one hand it is said that no one is forced to buy tools and incur those expense losses, yet on the other hand it is stressed to follow the pattern of those who have blazed the trail before you. You hear more and more about how building a Quixtar business is a group effort. There are even Quixtar ads pointing out that you are not alone when building the business. However when it comes to evaluating the distributor's net financial performance, the individual Quixtar distributor is always alone. Even though the building of the Quixtar business is supposed to be a group effort, you never see anyone trying to evaluate the financial results of that group effort. I think it would be an interesting exercise for each upline to survey everyone in their downline for net profitability. Since the upline is supposed to be a mentor, wouldn't it be interesting to see an upline analyze a downline's profit and loss statement for the year and say, "jeez you spent too much on tapes", or "you bought too many seminar tickets" (that we were non refundable), or "you put too many miles on your car trying to recruit people". All the Quixtar corporate blogs are talking more and more about individual profitability yet as far as I know the corporation never polls individual net profitability. Wouldn't be interesting if the corporation took an interest in distributor's net profit as well? |
