- ADA Board
Amway® distributors who have been elected by all voting distributors (Directs and above),
to serve a three year term. Their duties include policy making, settling disputes between
distributors, and approving any change Amway® makes that effects distributors. Click here to visit their web site.

- Amagram
A monthly magazine that is mailed to all Amway® distributors. In it you will see the
pictures of the new Directs and above. There is also a story written for Emeralds and
above.

- Artistic Color
This is a line of merchandising tools, tapes, literature and seminars designed by a
Diamond to assist in the sale of Amway®'s Artistry cosmetics and skin care. Amway® also
makes many sales aides and will do seminars for distributors. Artistic Color has not been
approved by Amway® and should not be used.
- Book of the Month (BOM)
a monthly book the upline chooses and sells to distributors. Distributors don't
know what the book will be until they after they've bought it.

- The Business
a frequently used term Amway® distributors use to refer to the Amway® business without
having to say the word Amway®.
- Business Compendium
A notebook from Amway® containing all the rules regulations and procedures for
Amway® Distributors.
- Business Volume (BV)
There is a business volume amount attached to all Amway® products and services. The BV
amount is less than the retail price but is a percentage of it. It is the BV that
determines the bonus from Amway®. There is no BV on tools or any system expenditures.
- Crossline
Any distributor who is not in your upline or your downline.

- Crosslining
Amway® doesn't recognize this term. Many distributors define it as talking with,
calling or visiting any distributor who is crossline from you.

- Crown
A distributor who has personally sponsored 18 distributors who have reached the direct
level.

- Crown Ambassador
A distributor who has personally sponsored 20 distributors who have reached the
direct level.
- Diamond
A distributor who has personally sponsored six distributors who have reached the direct
level.

- Direct
A distributor that has created 7500 points in monthly volume and maintained that volume
for six months out of the fiscal year

- Distributor
Term used to describe someone who signs up in the Amway® business. You must be invited by
someone who is called your sponsor.
- Double Diamond
A distributor who has personally sponsored 12 distributors who have reached the direct
level.

- Downline
The Amway® distributors who fall below you in a line of sponsorship. As a distributor,
your downline consists of anyone you bring into (sometimes referred to as sign up or
sponsor) the Amway® business. Your downline also includes anyone they sponsor and so on.
- Emerald
A Distributor who has personally sponsored three distributors who have reached the direct
level.

- Executive Diamond
Sometimes referred to as EDC, A distributor who has personally sponsored nine distributors
who have reached the direct level.

- Line of Sponsorship
This is sort of your family tree in Amway®. It is all of your upline members in order
from the top, to you.
- Major Function
These are weekend functions held 4-5 times per year. They are primarily
motivational meetings.

- Organization
Sometimes referred to as your group. This would be your entire downline.
- Pearl
A distributor who has personally sponsored three distributors who have reached
"silver" (hit 7500 points at least once but have not maintained it for 6 months
yet) This pin has been discontinued and replaced by Sapphire.

- Pin level
A certain level of achievement in Amway®. The term "pin" comes from
the small lapel pin Amway® sends to you when you reach various levels of achievement.

- Point or PV
Every product or service has a point value associated with it. Point Value (PV) is on
average half of the retail price or business volume (BV). The monthly PV of your group
determines the percentage of your bonus from Amway®. At Direct, when your organization is
generating 7500 points in monthly volume, your organization is spending about $15,000 a
month. All Amway® bonuses are based on PV and BV. There is no PV-BV in the system.

A large book full of pictures depicting the lifestyle of Diamonds.

- Sapphire
A distributor who has personally sponsored two distributors who have reached the direct
level.
- Silver
A distributor who has reached a monthly volume of 7500 points in one month.
- The System
Businesses that are separate from the Amway® Corporation. These various system
businesses are owned by many large distributors and include tapes, books, and functions.
The system is for training and motivation of distributors.
- Tape Break
This term is used to define money that is paid to Directs and above for the sale of all
tools in their organization. The amount is the difference between retail cost and the cost
charged to your particular pin level.

- Tools
items that are not produced by the Amway® corporation that Amway® distributors
use to train and motivate themselves and business associates. Some examples tapes, books,
and seminars.

- Triple Diamond
A distributor who has personally sponsored 15 distributors who have reached the direct
level.
- Upline
the Amway® distributors who fall above you in a line of sponsorship. As a
distributor, your upline consists of your sponsor, your sponsor's sponsor and so on.
