Are those silly Amway/Quixtar distributors are at
it again? It seems Quixtar is working proactive to avoid another run in with
P&G. The P&G Satan rumor got a lot of press in the '80s and '90's and led to
some major legal activities between the two companies. The Satanism rumor had
been heard in Amway circles since as early as 1983 when Amway Crown Ambassador Dexter Yager was on stage answering questions about it.
Later in the '90's Diamond Randy Haugen went on the Amway voice messaging system and
repeated it again. Here is the latest rumor going around with Amway/Quixtar's age
old rival P&G.

To all Independent
Business Owners:
Recently we have heard a false rumor that Swiffer Wet Cloths and WetJet Cleaning Solution
are not safe for animals. This rumor is completely false. P&G has provided the
following response to a question about the safety of ingredients in the Swiffer products:
We're glad you came to us for the facts about the rumor circulating. Swiffer Wet cloths
and WetJet liquid solution do not contain antifreeze or any ingredient similar to it. In
fact, Swiffer products have been safely used in over 15 million U.S. homes
many with pets for nearly five years.
Independent veterinarians and scientists evaluated the Swiffer Wet Cloths and WetJet
cleaners and found them safe. The ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to
Animals) has even posted information about this rumor on their site. Here's a link to
their home page: http://www.aspca.org
We have pets too, and their health and well-being are very important to us. Please help us
put animal lovers' minds at ease and stop this rumor by sharing the truth
with others.
You may also find additional information at P&Gs website
www.homemadesimple.com in the Swiffer Q&A section. Please do your part to
stop the spread of false rumors.
Sincerely yours,
Jim Payne,
Sr. Vice President and Managing Director
