Amway Distributors' Perfect Water Claims all Hogwash? |
| Well it has been far more than a year now and there has been plenty of time
for Amway and the IBOAI to substantiate the extraordinary claims that Amway's Perfect
water could increase balance, flexibility and strength. The IBOAI published this note on their website sometime in March 2008. "We are in the process of reviewing and substantiating demonstrable claims. We hope to complete these tests as soon as possible and will add additional claims and demonstrations as they are substantiated. Upon the conclusion of the review, we will provide a list of substantiated and approved claims that IBOs can use to market this product. Amway Global will provide you with an update on the status of all tests and claims prior to shipping product, which is scheduled for mid-April. Until then, we appreciate the cooperation of IBOs in using only published and approved claims. "I guess Amway and the IBOAI have come up empty handed, else they would have published the results by now. I guess all the critics were right. Amway distributor's Perfect Water were all bogus and made up. Perfect Water is still grasping at straws to differentiate their product from all the other bottled waters on the market and to justify its high price. A quick look at the Perfect Water web site now says that Perfect Water "works on the same premise as Nitroglycerine"! Supposedly putting a Nitroglycerine pill under your tongue will instantly stop a heart attack.
I really did not know how nitroglycerine pills worked so I looked around a little on the web. The Nitroglycerine pill is said to provide relief by vasodilatation; widening of the blood vessels. Glyceryl trinitrate (nitro) is readily absorbed from the oral mucosa and is also absorbed through the skin from an ointment base. The time to peak concentration depends on the route of administration; it occurs after 2 minutes, 40 minutes and one hour after sublingual, oral and dermal administration respectively. When you read what they are saying, they are really saying nothing...."there is immediate recognition when you drink Perfect Water". So what does that mean? Is Perfect Water supposed to be a vasodilator as well? What are the supposed positive and beneficial reactions when the Perfect Water is recognized? Maybe the IBOAI would care to post these positive and beneficial reactions when they post the studies substantiating greater flexibility, strength and balance from drinking Perfect Water. |
