|
| Ada, Michigan (Amway Parody Press- APP) Entrepreneurship is a key to fixing many of Michigan's problems, gubernatorial candidate Dick DeVos said Thursday at Spring Arbor University. | |

"The state is deep in
need of entrepreneurship. With the Delphi bankruptcy and all, Michigan needs to
redouble its efforts in this area, and I have the solution," said DeVos, a Republican
from Grand Rapids. "There is tremendous opportunity for Michigan, but it is not going to come from the traditional business sector. It's not going to come from traditional industries in this state. It's going to come from entrepreneurs like those in Amway/Quixtar." DeVos and his father, Rich DeVos, spoke at Spring Arbor University's first Entrepreneurship and Innovation Symposium. "In fact the Amway/Quixtar opportunity has never been better. In 1976 we had just 360,000 distributors in the United States. Twenty-nine years later we have grown to 380,300 distributors in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Haiti, the Dominican republic and untold other small Caribbean counties. That is a growth rate of over 0.18% per year. |
|
Amway/Quixtar is a really a
tremendous growth machine and could work wonders for the Michigan economy", commented
DeVos. There was little direct campaigning. For the most part, they explained the creation and growth of Amway Corp., the company co-founded by the father and formerly headed by the son, and is now headed by his little brother Doug. "Amway/Quixtar has made more millionaires than any other business, besides Microsoft, and Michigan could use some more millionaires to kick start our economy", noted DeVos. |
| "The income potential of
Amway/Quixtar is phenomenal. The average distributor made $82/month in Quixtar in
2004, and that was just for part time work. This is an income slightly less than
that of someone from Liberia.
Imagine that lifestyle!", shouted DeVos. DeVos asked the students, "would you be willing to build a business a few hours a week for 2-5 years to establish an income pipeline, and not have to continue to trade anymore time on a 9 to 5 job?", and stated "You can have this and more with Amway/Quixtar. DeVos encouraged the students to seek a career as an Amway/Quixtar Entrepreneur instead of continuing to waste their time and money in school studying to work for someone. DeVos also reiterated Amway/Quixtar's long standing disdain for jobs and said those hard working distributor's who are fortunate enough to 'flush their stinking job', leave those jobs for other losers who do not have big dreams and choose to be broke employees until they die. |
