Not to Prospect Concession Stand Employees

A spokesman for the arena and convention center operators said that many concession stand employees had openly refused to work at Amway conventions due to the constant barrage of distributors prospecting the concession stand employees for the Amway business.

One concession stand employee said, "The Amway people stand in line to get their Cokes, and one by one they ask you if you are happy with your job or your income".  "After a whole weekend of the pitch, I'm pretty fed up with it".  "I can be prospected hundreds of times in one weekend".   "I have a whole collection of prospecting cassette tapes given to me over the years".

One major concessionaire said, "on weekends of major Amway-Quixtar conventions, we found a much higher absenteeism rate compared to other types of conventions".  "Our employees do not want to deal with being pitched Amway for three straight days in a row, so many of them just skip work when they find out it is an Amway convention."

According to a an insider, and a major line of sponsorship diamond, who wishes to remain anonymous, the move to openly ban prospecting of the concession stand employees came after concessionaires refused to operate at future Amway-Quixtar functions.  He noted, many lines of sponsorship take a nice cut of the receipts from the concessionaires, and it was either agree to their demand to stop the distributor prospecting or no longer prohibit distributors from bringing their own food and drinks to the convention.

"It was purely a business decision", noted the diamond".    "If we allowed the distributors to bring their own food, even if they bought it through Amway-Quixtar, we would have lost a lot of money".   "Besides, those people working the concession stand are losers, if they aren't in the business by now.  It makes no sense to prospect them further."   "If you are prospecting a concession stand employee, you are not 'sponsoring up' anyway"  "Distributors need to spend their energies sponsoring above their own motivational level, not below it".
