I just wanted to write and thank you for your website on Amway/Quixtar. As a new IBO(2 weeks in the business) I found it very interesting and informative on many aspects.
![]()
Was wondering what your involvement in Amway was. My parents were involved during my childhood and eventually went Diamond. My Mother died in 2002 and I have to say that the events that have followed have been nothing short of a soap opera. My father remarried within a year and introduced his new wife (who was a distributor) to the group on the eve of the anniversary of my Mother's death - following a moment of silence in remembrance of her. I have since learned that his relationship with this women started before my Mother's death (in addition to other relationships). Diamonds preach from stage all day regarding God and life. The display of my father - still a diamond - and his upline diamonds was the most hypocritical thing I have ever seen in my life. I had the utmost respect for the business when I was growing up - from this experience I have learned that all they do is brainwash you and control your life.

You folks that build and support these sites are truly amazing, you're soldiers I'll give you that. You seem very adept at shooting holes in the Amway/Quixtar compensation plan, and digging up the financials on all "big wig liars," what I'd really like to see is your own personal financial statements. If you're half as bright as you think you are I'd expect to see some very impressive figures.
I grew up in business from the age of about 13 on. I'm 26 now and would be the first to admit that I have yet to turn a profit with what you call "the plan." But I also will have the integrity to admit my lack of profit is due to my own failure to perform. I would agree with you and all the sob stories you post on your website, there is a great deal of dishonesty involved in this industry as a whole, and I've had to deal personally with almost every aspect of it that gets all the attention on your site and others like it. Lets not blow up the ship just because there are a few idiots on it, sound acceptable? Can we at least have the maturity to put out in the open that Amway and Quixtar have nothing to do with this? They are Suppliers, Order Consolidation Centers analog and digital, that provide the merchandise and an unparalleled compensation plan. That's what they do, period. I don't recall every getting any business advice from anyone at either corporation, good or bad. As adults lets go ahead and let them off the hook as innocent, they are good business people have been in this country for over 40 years.
So who do we blame? As I recall, it takes two to tango. I would agree that the "plan" being shown and disclosed from most leaderships in this business is less that accurate. Like any industry, this one is filled with people who are short term thinkers and will lie their way to success if possible with no reguard to the people it compromises, this much is true. So, if your "subscribers" dive into business with such people, both feet, believing things that are barely believable at best, WHO IS THE IDIOT? As a Christian and as a business owner, I've found that in life, you're going to get screwed. At that point you figure out who you really are. If you want to pitch a fit and take your rubber ducky and go home, maybe sue a few people on the way, God Bless ya. But if you took an objective look at things, you would probably find that your hands are less than clean.
What I love about your readers attitudes is they are much like a woman who falls in love with a man she knows is not who he claims to be, but she gives him her HEART ANYWAY. Ultimately things go south, they always do when you're not playing with the truth. Then she spends the rest of her life trying to make things miserable for him because SHE GOT BURNED EVEN THOUGH SHE KNEW BETTER. But she wanted to believe the lie so bad she couldn't resist. You get your heart broke and now you're so livid you can't even see straight and the real burn is that it was your own stupidity that earned you that experience. Do I fault the girl, not completely, but at least admit you put your own self in a very compromising situation, at least take some responsibility.
Is this compensation plan as good as most people make it out to be? No. Its not millions and millions. But if you get good at it, which most people fail to do, it will be hundreds of thousands. People choose to believe it anyway because THEY KNOW THAT WHAT THEY ARE DOING ON A DAILY BASIS FROM 8 TO 5 IS NOT GOING TO CUT IT IN THIS ECONOMY LONG TERM. In the back of their minds they know they have a long time to work ahead of them and the results at the end of the road are going to be questionable at best.
Here's what I suggest. Run the numbers, they work. The number one draw back I see is that in order to make the numbers work long term, you can't be an idiot(eliminates alot of your readers), you can't lie and you have to learn your trade, much like ANY BUSINESS. Like any business you have to learn to get good at what you do, what creates profit long term and what doesn't. Here's a clue, the numbers work, most people don't ever learn to work effectively in their own business.
For people who feel taken advantage of time wise and financially, I would recommend starting a real business. Start a mortgage company, start a restaurant, start a real estate development firm. Bring your woe as me attitude into an enterprise where you get to go hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars into debt for the possibility of making $3 to $20 thousand a month, that will check your temperature. That would make the shady people in your upline seem like a cool breeze in hell. You would snap like a twig because all you have are excuses and no vision. Then who could you blame? Here's another good one; how about your student loans? Did you get your value there? Did going 0 to $50 or $60 thousand in the hole put you on the road to financial success? Is there anyone you can sue or whine to about that?
Just some food for thought. Sorry to go on so long but the attitudes represented on your site truly make me sick to my stomach as an American. Learn to like your boss, save as much as possible at Wal Mart, actually put the savings in the bank instead of buying more crap on sale. Pay your house off and save, save, save. Count on social security and your relatives, thats a good plan. Do everything you can do to be cheap. Maybe by the time retirement age rolls around you'll have $5 or $6 thousand a month coming in. Seems like an exciting return for 40 or 50 years of scrimping and scraping. You'll be considered a genius by your peers. Sounds like a lot of fun.

its obvious who makes the money in the business. The ones who get the education and then apply themselves. That's true in any business.
Its also obvious who doesn t make the money. The ones who chat on the internet about why they failed and why they never tried.
I just want to thank you a lot! Your website saved my butt. I'm from
Canada and I'm 17. I was aware of pyramid systems and partially how they work, but not as much as I know now from your site. I was almost suckered into a Quixtar pyramid. I knew full well that it was a pyramid but the guy kept saying it wasn't and trying to brain wash me into believing it wasn't. I'm not one for being brain washed. I stay away from media such as the news etc... and stick solely to the
Internet. If I wasn't so fluent with computers and the underground portions of the net I would have been full well sucked into this. If there is anything I can do for you and your fight against this corporation I would more than willing to help you out. I know a lot more than any average Joe should know about computers. I mean anything and everything. I still haven't declined this Quixtar Agent's invitation or accepted it. So if there is anything you suggest I should ask/say to this fellow; let me know. I apologize for my informal e-mail; it is well past 3am because I have been informing myself off of your website. Reply to me asap so I can have some fighting words for this Agent. Thank you for your time. I hope to hear from you soon.

You have a site filled with information and it is quite evident that you had a bad experience with the Amway and Quixtar companies and/or some of the Diamonds who left to form Team in Focus.
I am sorry you were so disappointed by your experiences that you must be so negative about some people I have enjoyed meeting and am proud to be associated with in Team In Focus.

I just got a heavy dose of recruitment last week from a Quixtar rep. They have events in Virginia, at little "opportunity meetings" and you are told to read books, listen to tapes, and watch a DVD constantly to keep you informed on how to grow your IBO. There's a rule that they need to close the deal with you (to sign on) within 48 hours.
I was being recruited by an acquaintance, and I had to pay cash to buy a $20 ticket to attend one of those monthly meetings. They don't even serve you any food or drinks. You just have to sit and listen to some guy talk about the organization (which is never mentioned by name) for 4 hours. I was told that if I join, I had to pay $40 for some kind of sign up fee and then another $340 to be a full fledged member and be able to start shopping online.
They are touting their wares as e-Commerce... on Quixtar.com. I was also given another website (secure, not Google-able) with the tools for marketers.
Of course I didn't join, and of course, my acquaintance's countenance changed once I told him that it was not for me. But he's already stuck... what can be done?! His wife quit her job thinking that this would be a lucrative venture. They are having a baby this month.
Scott, really, what can be done?

Hi Scott,
I have not been involved with Amway for long but I stubled onto your site and thought I might as well add my opinion. I am now an IBO but I spent years fighting off other Amway would be uplines. The reason being that I never appreciated their tactics. There have been too many occasions when a friend has called me or my wife and asked if we could get together some time. Thinking they just want to spend some fun time with us as friends we agreed but were dissapointed to see them haul out their amway material when they came in. This did not really bother us, instead we tended to think they were morons and there was no way we were getting involved. Even if we did listen to them enough to consider signing up I knew I could never use these tactics to wriggle my way into peoples life.
To describe myself a little I consider myself to be an entrepreneur. I am in my mid twenties and I have not worked for anybody else in years and the last job I did have I took simply because it was an interesting one. My wife and I enjoy starting up businesses and in the past 3 years we have started 5 across 2 different countries. These are all small businesses and only two are still running. Not because the others failed but because we had done all we wanted to do with them and wanted to move onto something else. But this describes us, we are always keeping an eye out for business opportunities and find it tremendous fun when we get a new one off the ground. We, too, have a dream of time and money and we already achieved it when I taught myself how to trade the stock market just over a year ago. Sometimes I would have breakfast in bed and would have made more money before finishing breakfast then I would have made at any other job I have had. Something that cheezed off my brother who would just be opening the doors of his own shop when I come over and explain I have nothing to do because I had already made enough money that day.
At this time I though I was set for life but soon the novelty wore off and I felt like I wasn't being challenged anymore. I became bored with the market and so I left it to look for other business opportunities. The lifestyle I am most afraid of is the rat race. I have so many friends who are in the rat race and they are chained to their jobs with their bosses telling them what to do with their life. I even had a friend who was thinking about taking insurance out on her salary because she depended on her job so much to pay her debts. I believe the problem is that many people are programmed to believe that this is the normal way to go through life and if it good enough for everybody else why do they think they are too special for it? I have never believed in this and my wife an I are free as birds.
So why am I doing Amway now? Because an old friend suggested we look into it again but he didn't try to manipulate us, he didn't try to get any money from us. He just explained what the business does for him. What about all the money we need to spend on tapes and meetings? Our upline keeps GIVING us tapes and the meetings have been free!!! But to be honest, we don't believe we need them because we already have the dream and the motivation, this is why we have started so many of our own businesses. My wife and I have agreed from the beginning that once it appears they want us to invest in tapes and other tools we are jumping out.
Our upline has already found downlines for us so we are already making money and we have done virtually nothing!!!! Every other business we have done has required substantial investment to get them off the ground.
Before I finish I would just like to add that we approach nobody about Amway. We meet many people everyday and when they discover we are involved they are surprised that people like us who already have our own businesses and are happy with our current lifestyle do Amway. That is often enough for them to start asking us about it and all we do is tell them our experience. We don't do the sales pitch and never will. So far it has worked for us and even if it didn't it is not possible for our dreams to be dashed because Amway did not give them to us, we had them ourselves for years. It is dissapointing to read of many people who are in the rat race and are given the dream by Amway but when things get too confusing or they have done too much thinking they throw it away and hold a grudge against Amway for building up the dream when it was based on nothing. Amway did not invent this dream, it is just one possible vehicle. If you do get this dream and then abandon it and return to a life of working for someone else then you clearly never believed in the dream yourself anyway. If you did you would find some other means to achieve it if you didn't like Amway. With or without Amway I know I will never work for anybody ever again and as long as Amway does not become a distraction in my life I will hang onto it.
This is simply the opinion of a person who knows it is possible to have wonderful dreams and many effective ways of acchieving them. Only you are responsible for believeing you are capable of achieving great things. If you constantly need help to believe this you should just work for someone else.

Summary: Ruby directs Elizabeth Lavoie and John Lavoie sue their upline Frank Mazzeo when Mazzeo went around the Lavoie's and cut them off from the tools business profits. Cited in the complaint were unfair trade practices, illegal chain distribution scheme, fraudulent misconduct, breach of contract, interference with advantageous relations, securities fraud, and RICO. The complaint highlights the working of the Yager system and is a good description of the progression a distributor makes through the system.

Hey Scott,
Cool site. My husband and I were in the biz in the 90's. Thank goodness we moved to an area with no weekly plan and dropped out after going direct. It would have cost us our marriage too. I knew it was a scam all along but some of his Army buddies sucked him in and I tried to support him hoping I was wrong. I was looking on your site for Kevin and Beth Bell. They were in the Britt/ Miller/Covington group in NC. My husband and Kevin were friends and got kits the same week but the Bells took off like lightning and went Emerald. Where are they now? Thanks for all the juicy info. Also wonder what happened to Scott and Beth Kanady? They were Bill Britt's paid representatives in Germany trying to get the biz going there in '94-'95. Moved back to the Chicago area I think. What about Henry Skaggs who told the Army to shove it? What a mistake that must have been.

Hi Scott,
This Quixtar thing is definitely a scam. My name is Brian, and I very recently signed up as an IBO with Quixtar. Unfortunately, I wished I had looked through some of these websites about a week ago, because then I would have never even gotten myself involved. I knew the whole thing seemed to good to be true, but until I started receiving the catalogs and saw first hand how it works, I figured why not at least give it a shot.
The products are very overpriced, and the "learning materials" are very mind controlling, and after the first week I've taken a step back and realized how crazy the whole thing really is. Watching the dateline interview definitely was a factor as well. The worst part about it is that when you get in to the Quixtar mentality, it makes you look at your friends and family as dollar signs, which is just sick.
Anyways, the main reason I'm writing is because I am trying to figure out how I can at least maybe get SOME of my money back. I dropped $150 on the starter kits and materials, and their refund policy is very shady.
I'm pretty much convinced I'll probably have to eat the $150, but even getting some of it back would be nice.
I applaud you and every one else who has set up any kind of website denouncing this ridiculous sham. Personally, I feel embarrassed that I even fell for it, but I'm glad I realized it now, rather than before I got into even more debt. Once again, any info would be great.
Thank you,
Brian
Scott,
Thanks for the number. Thought I'd let you know, 2 of the guys from quixtar came over a little bit ago thinking they were going to get some new recruits, but they were in for a surprise. I wanted to make it simple by just telling them that I'm not interested, its not for me, etc. Of course they ended up staying for a half hour trying to get me to stick through it, saying it takes time, blah, blah, blah.
The thing I hated the most was once you get in that sort of mentality, is you look at everyone as a potential dollar sign$. That's how their brainwashed. You can tell they were pissed when they realized I was serious about not wanting to continue, because that meant less $$ for them. They were also saying that you can't trust those "garbage" websites that tell you otherwise. I just told them for as much negativity that is out there about quixtar, there must be some kind of legitamacy to it.
Even if the stuff I read is only 25-50% right, that's still a good enough reason not to pursue it. They really hated when I was mentioning the "pyramid scam". I told them obviously its not an illegal pyramid scam because otherwise it would have been shut down a long time ago.
I shamelessly got to the point of telling them that I'd rather spend the rest of my life broke (which, isn't entirely true), working at Walgreens pharmacy, than knowing I'm just looking at everyone I meet as $$ signs. The funniest thing the guy said right before he left is "wow, I've never actually had anyone quit on me before". At that point I knew he was full of crap, because he seemed to have the customer service number handy for my resignation.
Anyways, thanks again for posting that stuff on your "garbage" website. haha, just kidding! Unfortunately I've never taken a business class or anything before, so I had never heard of these pyramid scams. Whenever I mentioned the quixtar idea to my friends, most of them mentioned the pyramid thing. I wish I had done more research about a week earlier, but I guess I'd rather eat $150, than a few grand.
Thanks for your time,
Brian

Hello Scott
Thanks for putting together such an informative site. Too late for me however. I got in way back in 1993 or so, and I, like hundreds of thousands of others ate up the system for 10+ years on and off. It wrecked my family. I lost my wife, and thousands of dollars. I live in Ontario, Canada and I was in Casey's organization under Jack Proctor and Jeff Hummel. Jeff's wife was is a reel bitch. I used to pick up the products at Jeff's home in Alliston and I lived in Pickering, over an hour away. I used to be a waiter, and I would serve Casey Combden about once or twice a month. He certainly has a lot of charisma; it's almost scary.
It seems like you know a lot about all the lines of sponsorship and what is happening/has happened etc. I am wondering if you know if Jeff Hummel is still active. It would be priceless if they were done with it even though personally, I liked Jeff. But then again, that was the Jeff he wanted me to see.
I have since started a real business, and I sell more in a day than I ever sold in one year with this ridiculous excuse of a business. I'd love a chance to have a short chat with you sometime if you find you have time, and/or feel up to it. Thanks for your time. Hit me up!

scott, i've been reading your stuff for at least the last year. it's not only informative, it's entertaining! my brother and sister-in-law are deep into quixtar, although not deep enough to be making any money. it's so sad to see how much energy they are putting into this thing and how often they can't keep up with their expenses (they are in their early 20's with 2 children).
my husband and i are skeptical about everything. when we found out how quixtar was related to amway (not from them...the internet told us), we did our research (your site being one of our favorites). it took my brother-in-law 2 years before he asked us if he could show us "the plan" (we think he avoided us because he knew we weren't easily persuaded about things...and, we let him know early on what we thought about quixtar; i think he finally asked us because he was desperate) and boy were we prepared! we knew we weren't gonna convince him out of quixtar, but we were able to, at least, point out the many flaws and hopefully plant a seed of doubt!
anyways...keep up the excellent work!

Hi,
I am an ex-ida amway distributor, I joined in NZ in 1991 and went to Gold level, spent humungus amounts of money on a never-fail system of book of the month, tape of the week, monthly seminars and 6-mthly functions, only to have the system fail me. Four nights a week away from my babies, being brainwashed that every person that didnt see the BIG DREAM were losers, if the husband didn't do the business then he was a mouse not a man, if I wanted my downline to listen to me then the response was 'do you want to be right or do you want to be rich', 'fake it till you make it' by buying things that show your downline that being at that level brought in 'bucket loads of money', selling all my furniture in the house to buy function tickets of $160 each for me and my husband cos' you can always buy these things next month when people in your group get fired up and bring more people into the business, yeah right, the catch being that we only focussed on the network and nothing was sold cos hello, the products were a rip off.
Anyway, the reason for my email is this, my new partner has been approached by Network 21 to join a NEW system called THE PIPELINE where the focus is to build downline to 21% which is apparently only 10 deep. Do you know this system and is it new, they said it has only been in for the last 2 months. Today being 11 May 2005, the way is that your upline put people under you. Can you please give me some info. I dont' want to have anything to do with it but they have my partner hooked cos in their mind they are obviously doing something right otherwise people wouldn't be doing it.
If you can find out anything about this I would be happy.
Thank you
Jessica

Good Evening,
My name is Houssam and I am a computer technician. I found your website by chance after
returning tonight from a meeting that Quixtar had organized. I was invited by one of my
clients (I repaired his computer) and he approached me with the idea of making a lot of
money very quickly, and he was giving me a lot of cds to listen to -- people talking about
how rich they are and how easy it is to make money with this program. Since I am open
minded, I agreed to listen to some of the speeches. Tonight after this meeting that Ii
realy didn't like, I decided to do a quick search on google just to have an idea about how
the system really works and then decide since all that they talked about in these cds and
speeches was the same thing over and over like a brain washing.
Then, Ii found your website, and I appreciate what you wrote. I want to thank you for
your courage and I hope that everybody at tonight's meeting could see it.
Regards,
H.

Hi Scott
I have attached an article on washing powders in Australia, interesting to note that while SA8 performs well it is the most expensive.
So goes the claim of saving money using the concentrated powder.
The choice magazine has been a consumer product tester her for years and years
Keep up the good work

Once again, you lead the way in information. Thank you so much for investigating this group (Goads). We were monthly donation givers for a few years while involved in WWDB. This information is truly amazing - particularly the salaries. I cannot tell you, Scott, how valuable I (and many others I'm sure) find your website. Altho no longer involved in Quixtar other than to buy a few products here and there, I keep tabs on their antics, the lawsuits, and the AMOs. I hope one day it is truly exposed for what it is and ceases to operate in its current structure and by its current rules.

Good to see this World Scam being exposed for what it is... Jerry & Mandy Kent were our upline Emeralds and there they were... gone.
How about their downline directs (and our upline) Andy & Deb Rowden? Nice people, and I think they reached Sapphire (or whatever) They really believed in it all too.
Put their names in on Google a little while back and got a Mortgage Company in Taunton (where they lived ) for a while recently but thats gone now.
It is surprising the amount of people who admit to have having learned a lot from their experiances in this scam, in a positive, personal growth way, but to my mind it is the right thing for the wrong reason.
Reading 'Merchants of Deception' should be the first book all new recruits should read... yeh, like that'll happen.
Keep up the good work

Hi,
Like your site! My wife and I were in Amway 10 years ago and it almost cost us our marriage. My wife thought it was the real deal, and I knew it was a scam from day one. Also our upline and sponsers were jerks. The funny thing is that no matter what Amway says or the "legality" of it Amway is just a glorified pyramid scam and cult.

Good day, I have a friend who's father started a few years ago in e-commerce. Her father got her into it and they have already made ends meet long ago financially and they are living really good now, my friend is a little disclosed with her finances which i can totally understand. She had moved away shortly after she said she was going to introduce me to some people who can get me started in this e-commerce concept, i was given a book called "The Quixtar Revolution". I read this book and understood the reasoning behind the business, and i am anxious to get started. I just don't know where to start. My friend told me that the way she got started was, she had to go to a seminar with some people who i think were like sponsors. I know this sounds really vague, but this what i am lead to believe. In any case i am very interested in starting a new career and a new life, i am young and single, and i would like to be making good money and enjoy it while i am young. So if you could contact me with some info about getting started as quickly as possible or you know of any seminars that are coming up please let me know as i am very interested in getting started.
Thank you so much for your time.

Dear Scott,
Just for the information - Quixtar has different name in Central Europe - VEBSO and you can find it in www.vebso.com
Shame that they have to HIDE their real owner Amway trough doubious names such Quixtar, Vebso,... in my opinion only to fog the obvious...
I am lucky to be informed by your pages, since just today I had a sleazy member of their CULT trying to convince me to get into a multibillion USD business... Of course I would need some starting material for about 50 EUR which I refused. After that I have "googled" Amway a little and found your page and I tought might be good to let people know that they are hiding behind different names in different countries.
Best regards,
David

First I would like to say that I am not affiliated with Quixtar, but I have some comments. Greg Duncan made a lot of money through private franchising before he started making cd's and holding seminars. I attended a Quixtar seminar once and the cover at the door was a whole 6 bucks. The person I attended the seminar with also tried to sell me one of Greg Duncan's cd's at the whopping price of $2.50. Wow! That's $8.50 altogether. That set me and my family back a few meals. You may have your opinions, but don't ruin the dreams of other Americans by writing things that just aren't true. Another thing, if Quixtar is such a scam, then why are you taking your time to write such lengthy articles about the business? Won't people figure this out for themselves, or is this your job? You and I both know that private franchising, network marketing, multilevel marketing, whatever you want to call it, can be a very lucrative business. How many Americans have you deterred from the chance of making a better life for themselves by writing lies. I'm not calling you a liar by any means, but what you write does not contain the truth. As far as IBO's getting in and dropping out just shows that not everyone has drive and ambition. If everyone had what it takes to be successful we wouldn't have a poor or middle class. I ask you to really think about the information you put on the internet because it affects more people than you think.
God bless,
Adam Hull
(Adam technically became an IBO "after" he wrote me, so he was not lying to me when he said he was not "affiliated" with Quixtar in his letter)

Hi Scott,
I never thought I would be emailing you. I would appreciate if you did not revel my name or email address in respect of my privacy. I am an IBO in Alberta, Canada. I am part of the Garry & Lisa Sadden, Greg and Cathy Janke organization. I have been in the business for 9 years. Over that time we saw, experienced and went through a lot.
We had to put the business on hold this January because we lost our little girl. It was and still is the hardest point of my family's life. We just found out that our up line has shunned us in an attempt to gain control of our organization. We were qualified Gold's with about 240 people in our group and running 50 S/O per week when we put the business on hold. We were afraid of what our up line was going to do our people when we were gone. That fear came to life today.
The details of our situation are not important as it would only echo the countless emails that you have received over the years. Typing this email is very difficult for me. Having did nothing for the past 9 years except this business and then have somebody come in take it all away at the lowest point in my families life is very hurtful.
We were expecting Garry and Lisa to act in some questionable ways, but we never imagined they would sink this low.
This has hurt my family. The people that I am concerned for that will be the pawns in this little scheme of theirs is are our group.
It's sad, it really is.

After that I have "googled" Amway a little and found your page and I thought might be good to let people know that they are hiding behind different names in different countries.
Best regards,
David

Hi Scott, in the WWDB calendar
They show the following FAMILY REUNIONS :
Puryear - 9 - 10, G. Duncan & Felber - 16 - 17, Nelsen - 23 - 24, B. Duncan - 30 - 31
However on the WWDB website, there is only one combined Family reunion shown for July 9 & 10 in Portland.

Scott:
So far I have found out that Harteis is going to all CD's no more tapes.
They will no longer be using the "Flip Chart" to show the plan.
They are getting new IBO's to buy the top 50 cd's. (I haven't heard anything about a CD of the week program yet)
They are now promoting the depth building concept.
And lastly after this summer's "Summer Conference" function they will no longer be using Convention Concepts.
I should have more information coming in soon.
Thanks,
Bob

As a former IBO with Quixtar, I can say it's refreshing to see your site. It's great that smart folks out there will do their research and find this site before they commit their time and energy to this business. I believe that if one were to be truly fanatical about their business, they could achieve success with Quixtar. But for us average Joe's, all we end up with is debt and heartache! Personally, I was so swamped with Quixtar plans, functions, ordering, and people recruiting I lost my focus on my career and my family. I ended up both married AND divorced within a year of starting my Quixtar business, because my mentor insisted on advising me in EVERY aspect of my life- both business and personal, and I lost my sense of who I was and what I needed and wanted in life. Some of the mentors in Quixtar are the nicest people you could ever know, mine included, but you get caught up in all the niceness and before you know it you're wondering how such nice people could convince you to give up all your time and money!! They go as far as to tell you that your family and friends who don't support your business by enthusiastically buying your products and starting their own businesses should be cut out of your life because they don't have a dream!! This business is not for me! Thanks for the honest website.

Now Quixtar has a website which they call "your own personal website" powered by my.biz. That costs a pretty penny as well.
Have you ever heard of how they promote items as tax write-offs? They will tell you (they told me) that when you buy products for yourself, but display them in your home when people come over, you "demo" them and now can use them as write-offs. For example: you buy a TV and use it in your home like normal, but when your down lines come in, you point out the TV and say you made money buy buying it for yourself, then it is a write off.
1040 Schedule C states that this is false. A product bought solely as a display may not be used for personal use. Also, do these people pay Social Security? State taxes? FED?
More to come

MY NAME IS RACHEL. ABOUT A WEEK AGO, I PAID FOR INITIAL ENROLLMENT OF QUIXTAR. WHEN MY BROTHER-IN-LAW INTRODUCED ME QUIXTAR IT SEEMED THAT ITS SOMETHING THAT THE HARD WORKING AMERICAN SHOULD GO FOR. BUT RESEARCHING QUIXTAR. I HAVE REALIZED THAT THIS IS A SCHEME. DO YOU KNOW IF THERE IS ANY WAY TO GET MY REFUND BACK OF $120.00. I KNOW I SHOULD HAVE WENT WITH MY GUT INSTINCT WHEN HE WAS WANTING ME TO JOIN. I NEVER BOUGHT TAPES AND I WON'T NOW, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU CAN GET THEM ON EBAY FOR A CHEAPER PRICE.

Scott-
This is a link I pulled off cult deprogrammer Rick Ross's website. http://www.rickross.com/warningsigns.html
Rick Ross was hired by my parents and successful was able to get myself out of this business. I really think this link is beneficial because it comes from a credible educated source with experience in the field. If you read all of the signs that Rick Ross points out, Quixtar fits this mold perfectly.
-Once I am done with my college finals, I will write a complete story of my Quixtar experience and how I have successfully gotten people out of this business.
-Another topic that you will really have a laugh over, is the pranks I play on BWW associates. They all seem to hang out at the Barnes & Nobles and the Best Buy. Every time I see a BWW person in there, I call the store up and have the manager page "Bill Britt or Phyliss Frankel" or "Paul Miller AND Leslie Randolph." The look on the distributor's face is price less and they have never figured out where it comes from. I have even taken the pages a step farther and I have called up stadiums where they have paged "Paul and Debbie Miller" at North Carolina, Iowa State, and Nebraska football games. There is always someone in the crowd who knows what's going on.
-Also a couple of open meetings have been interrupted by friends of mine who have family members who are brain washed in this cult. Recently in Des Moines, a group of 10 of us, caught each and every "guest" as they walked into the meeting. We explained to them this business was a cult and to leave now and never come back. We told them about Britt and Phyliss Frankel and all the marriages, families, and finances that have been destroyed from this business. Of the 8 guests we confronted, six left the meeting right than and there and thanked us for our effort.
Sometimes being hostile and firm with these distributors can pay off. I will write you, some other more professional and successful tactics used to free people from this cult.
John
