Hello. I'm building quixtar and I know Howie Danzik. He was never married before meeting theresa. I don't know where you get your information from, but most of it is incorrect and or twisted to sound negative. Thanks.
-Derako-
Hi Derako,
If Danzik was not married to Susan, then who is this woman in his
January 1995 Amagram Emerald picture? How about the April 1996 Amagram for Diamond?Who told you this, Danzik himself? Now what do you have to say about the matter?
Scott
Hello. Thanks for emailing me back. I didn't know about that. It's kind of amazing that I didn't know that but what can I say. However why exploit the fact that some people aren't meant for each other? Quixtar in itself is great when it comes to products, but you need business training. I'd like to know the percentage of the divorse rates in the churches. I'm sure there is a significant difference. Your webpage is informative, but it's mostly about Amway which is a different business. the structure is the same, but there is always a buffer company below the Amway or Quixtar contracting corp. And they have changed things about how this business works since the 1980's when all of that negative stuff happened with people trying to scam people using the Amway business opportunity. But it was the person, not Amway. I'm sure if they would have known about this going on, they would have stopped it. Because Quixtar has it's own business plan, but just like any other business you have to have formal business training. World Wide Group does that successfully I believe. The people are what I love about this. I mean what better gift can you give someone other than a real shot at their financial freedom? The business plan is the best I've ever seen, however if you aren't in World Wide Group or Britt World Wide, how can you have a prayer at building this? You always need a mentor and an upline relationship.
-Derako-
Hello again. You are right about me not knowing about Amway, but I really don't care about it either. I'm really not that smart about anything, but I have made a profit from this business over the past 2 years of being involved. It's not much, but you have to start somewhere. I did however find out about Howie Danzik. I spoke to Greg Gilmore about it and he said that Howie and Susan weren't good before the business began. She just came along for the ride. So it didn't ruin their marriage. No business idea saves marriages, it's the people you associate with that save your marriage if it needs saving and I think that is what they talk about. Basically they're just saying that the people who represent World Wide Group are quality people with the right mind set for success. But anyway thank you for your words and it's always nice to hear people perspectives on the business. So if you don't mind I will email you again when I go Diamond. I hope you'll remember me. My name is Derek.

Divorces, yes, I know of another. MY PARENTS. I hate amway with a passion. Thanks for your site. Trying to figure alot of stuff out. Have a great heads up with the internet as to a few things.

Scott..
Very interesting compiled info.
Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Was approached by MMP through a friend and attended the session.
Too many holes – too many inconsistencies and and way too much hype!
Cost to attend one of their functions is $5 per person, guests free. (My friend, paid $5, and I got in free.) Why would she have to pay, if I would be joining and then be placed under MMP’s downline – only to make them money... I don’t know.
When I asked the really tough questions, about who MMP really was... Who was at the top? Could I see a downline list... Compensation plan... Where exactly I would be placed.... Jody’s kids got quiet – stumbling for words and an explanation... Only to turn the words around as why I wanted to know.... And why did it matter.... Afterall... MMP was a sure way to lots of money, in what they call – their PLAN B approach.
The saddest and most disturbing part of it all – was the hype Jody’s own kids made about him being there... WOW, my dad flew all the way home from out of town to be here - so that you can make lots of money! By the way, you pay me first.
MMP wasn’t for me.
As for my friend, I wish her all the best – unfortunately, I think she got caught in the hype.
Please keep anonymous. Much appreciated.
Hi Ray,
Were you pitched MMP or Quixtar? If you were pitched MMP as a bait and switch to Quixtar then it might be fun to file a complaint with your State's Attorney General. This is a typical abuse Amway...uh Quixtar gets beat up for all the time with AG's. I have a tape with Amway lawyers on it saying how they get in hot water for this practice.
Scott
I was pitched on MMP – and Quixtar was never even mentioned in the meeting, as far as I can recall. They just referred to it as online shopping.

Scott,
Hello my name is Daniel an Ex Q* 1000PV.... Thanks to your site I figured out the truth about three month ago...Since then I quit Q* and started up Passport, which was as you know founded by Bo Short who is a great guy and leader....As of right now I sent my tools back to my upline platinum about three months ago and still have not received the check he said I would...I am contacting business relations very soon. But my main reason for emailing you was to let you know something I have not proved but may be true. I really believe the bigger pins are receiving money on your hotel rates. The only reason this came up was I was trying to book a room for "Dream night" and they told us to make sure we booked the room though our assigned upline. Well what we found out was it was cheaper to call and get a room without saying our uplines name and the password...If i remember correctly about $10 cheaper per room...Now I don't know how hotels run and how their prices work...But I would say common sense tells you if they booked a lot of rooms in advance they would get a special price and if I would call at the last min like I did then the price would be higher not cheaper...Now I could be wrong but I though you might want to check it out...I was on the winters team on BWW team... If you want to check this out I will give you Larry Winters web site with the pass codes and all that and you can look at what they are charging for rooms and call up the places and ask their rates...So if you are interested good luck and if not no big deal...
Scott,
Ha that is what I thought about the hotels. Well I am glad I am right...I told my upline about it and he assured me they did not make money on the hotels...how funny...Yes I do have all that info for you and it is my pleasure to give it to you ....Also I have some emails that i got from my platinum upline that he sent me when i asked him about the tools...If you would like that let me know...

Too weird. We were part of the WWDB sponsorship. Our upline didn't like their upline so they quit. They are waiting to renew in 6 months with the other upline. They did not even let us know and when we sent a request for products to their upline they have not responded at all.
Talk about bad sponsorship!

Scott,
Thanks for the reply. I have yet to learn "how" to be successful in this business except to "show the plan" as often as possible and to "buy the things I normally buy" at any of the open meetings and IBO meetings that follow. I pay $8.25 per tape and so far all of them have been from the names in the business discussing their life stories and asking if "you're fired up!" My leanings are beginning to be towards being a member and giving up the IBO part.
I look forward to visiting your site as I continue to make this decision. Thanks for the information.
Ed
Hi Ed,
Can you tell me what group you are in that charges now $8.25 per tape? That is the most expensive ones I've heard of yet. If I were you I'd stop the tapes until I made a decision. You can buy the tapes on ebay for 50 cents to $1 each.
Have you been told about selling and the Member Client rule? Do you know as a member you get Q points which amounts to about being in the 17% bonus level? As an IBO if you got 100 points, you'd only get 3% with no downline.
I suggest reading more stuff on my site because you upline surely is not telling you.
Keep me posted on your conclusion.
Scott,
I have attached a jpeg of the three receipts of recently purchased tapes ($8.25 each!) as part of the SOT program.
I am part of the Helsley Pittsburgh Team and for now I'll leave out my upline's name as I really think he is a good guy. We are part of the Covington/Miller(?) team. In fact, Rocky Covington was in Pittsburgh several weeks ago speaking at the Radisson in Monroeville.
I learned about the Member/Client Rule while surfing the BWW and/or Quixtar sites, I can't remember which. I asked my upline about it and he said that the company realizes that the first month or two a new IBO may not have any member/clients just yet (sounds reasonable) but that his wife could go on the internet and either show me how to indicate that I have met the rule or she could do it for me from her computer and that no one really ever checks or questions it anyway. I would have thought that after the open meetings when the IBO's meet that this would be a pretty important topic for the "successful" IBO's to be explaining in detail to the new IBO's.
When I informed my upline about my concerns, he forwarded to me the response from Quixtar to his wife's request for "positive" information to counter all the negative stuff out there. Included in the company's response was a link to IBOfacts.com. Pretty interesting when you read the company line and then the rebuttal and the audio links from Rich(?)DeVos and others.
Thanks for your help once again, I'll keep you posted.
Ed

Hi Scott,
I thought you'd appreciate an update on our diamond. His wife *** has passed away from pancreatic cancer. I only knew **** from meeting her at several functions, but she did seem like a nice person; it's a shame that she never got out of the business, but a lot of them are in so deep that they either never will get out or they're so brainwashed that they actually believe it.
I will say that I have heard from some who are still in the business and some who aren't that even when the doctors told our diamond that his wife was terminal and only had a few weeks left, he still went to lead a major function! Those who are still in the biz said things like "Isn't he such a winner!?" I also know that he attended the home of my former upline Emeralds for July 4th and judging from his behavior, you'd never of known that he had just lost his wife. Within 2 weeks, he had all her clothes and stuff packed up and has already talked to his children about remarrying! I know that everyone grieves in their own way and I shouldn't even be saying any of this, but this just isn't normal behavior. I shall continue to pray for all of those who are still in "the business."
I feel that to name him would be in poor taste. Not to mention, you don't need any more legal trouble.

Scott,
I have read your site extensively. Good job. Your points are relevant and on-line.
I have been a distributor / IBO for almost 10 years. I believe I got my money's worth (out of the system), if only because I needed to learn the people skills so badly. While I know now there are many ways of achieving what I have in the past 10 years, I didn't then know about options, so I am thankful for the opportunity to learn.
That said, your points (and those of other high-level pins) regarding the profitability (or lack thereof) are well-taken. I have only recently made the decision to withdraw from the game. This decision was pretty much made this past week after much internal debate, but I must admit, was cemented when I read what Bo Short had to say.
I saw Bo speak in person, and it was at that time one of the more motivational times of my life. His oft-repeated tome "this business can make your dreams come true" spoke to me, as did his very apparent sincerity and integrity. When I heard he resigned, I wondered why, but I did not follow through. Thanks for posting his information.
I believe in the same principles as Bo, especially concerning fairness in pricing per both products and support system. I have always found in frustrating to be excited about making a large sale, (which I am good at in the "real" world), only to get shot out of the saddle with the realization that "wholesale" is not necessarily wholesale. I am in the manufacturing / wholesale business and know whereof I speak.
I would like to contact Mr. Short and discuss a business association with him. If you would be so kind, could you either provide me with his phone number / e-mail, or provide HIM with mine? It would be much appreciated.
Keep up the good work. Even for those folks who choose to continue building a Quixtar business, if their eyes are wide open, the chance of a bitter taste in the mouth (like mine) would be far less.
Best regards,
Tim

Scott,
Are you being hired by Proctor and Gamble to post this site?
Or are you unemployed? You must be.
I have been building my business supported by Quixtar for two years now about 10-15 hrs a week.
Unlike your lame excuses for why this business doesn't work and isn't profitable, I have had excellent success with my business.
This year I have made $3000 to $4000/mo with $15000 coming in bonuses for being a Q-12 Platinum in November 2003.
I am a business owner outside of Quixtar and have never seen a downside in this business except for sites like this that give "job mentality" people the impression that they can't make this work. I can thank you for undoing a lot of work that I have done, but that isn’t that negative, if they were going to build this or any other business, they would probably have quit anyway.
This business works. If people have had negative experiences, it is always with people they worked with and never the corporation.
Where else can you buy an energy drink or a food supplement and use it and still be guaranteed your money back?
Where else can you make that kind of money in a part-time business?
This business is the best in the world. Show me another if you don’t believe it. What about all the corporations that are a part of the site?
I choose to listen to IBM, Office Max, Catalog City, Frank Feathers from "Future Consumer.com" and John Sustina over people like you that spend all your time trying to find out what is wrong with a business.
If you want to be successful in this business or any other, you have to find out what is right with something. If there are far more positives to something rather than negatives, I will choose to go for that deal.
You should to.

That’s great that you take time to list people’s faults. I feel much better. Now, why don’t you list the fortune 500 executives and rate them out. I would really like to know what their divorce rate is. I hate rich people!! And their stupid dreams about making the world a better place. Don’t they know that there is no hope? Just take what’s in front of you, if you can touch it its real, if you can’t… well logically thinking people know the answer to that.

Greetings Scott
I read for over an hour just now your Quixtar f.y.i. info
WOW I'm flabbergasted & thankful to you. I've been HEAVILY recruited and have been to two ibo recruiting meetings
Why are they hot for me? Well, the last nights meeting really showed me why. They mentioned the average person has 200 direct people influence {personally I think that is high for the Average Joe or Janet Lunch bucket}
Well I'm being honest & accurate. My true circle or influence is:
1,000 at church
500 at work
50-75 relatives
200 contacts from 10 years in politics
My DAD sorry to say is the one who keeps encouraging me SON " look how many people you know!!!!" ya ya ya
Scott, I've prayed over this more than once. Yea it would be nice to be financially FREE & pay my sons $18000 a year tuition in full, but at the expense of People at church, work that I love & care for. . .. . . .
nah. . .. . . . .I thank you, I was just very curious, what motivated you to get so involved at informing us?
ps I got truly convicted in my heart to do a GOOGLE search on Quixtar & the people involved I promised my wife that I would check it out from stem to stern & you have enlightened me beyond belief
please write back or call
in Christ alone, w/ gratitude
Ron
Scott-
I am a former distributor, (thankfully, we quit before Quixtar was "launched"), and have been checking your site, off and on, for the last few years. I was reading through the lines of sponsorship, and couldn't find the Yeager,/WIlson/Haugen, of which I was a part of, any where in the listings. What's up with that?
Just as a side note, which I'm sure you have heard countless times before, my experience was a total joke. My upline direct, who was directly below Haugen, was a former Mormon church bishop. His wife worked, (maybe she still does), for the Haugen's, and he ended up cheating on her while he was out "showing the plan." He was out 5-6 nights a week, but he wasn't building his business.
I have been to Haugen's home probably a dozen times, and had the "blessing" to fly in their jet to Sacramento, while Randy built a leg out there, which went no where. They seemed to have a lot of money, but I'm sure that 75%, at least, came from the "system." That was the biggest issue for me when I quit...I had hundreds of tapes of completely useless brainwashing
I hope that you found some of this interesting. Like I said, I'm sure you have heard this hundreds of times. I really enjoy your site, and I hope that you will form a list to email when you learn of when the NBC-Dateline production will air regarding Quixtar. I'm hoping that Dateline is going to focus on the Morrison/Haugen lawsuit... that would make great TV.
Best Regards,
TT

Hi Scott,

When my marriage broke up, partially because of the business I was ostracized largely because it is a "family business". How hypocritical they all areRegards

Hey Scott,
hope you send your info to dateline.
I was in for 12 years and averaged 20 - 30 hours a week, 2000 miles on the car a week. I reached direct with 3 legs.
Amway does know about how much they make off tools. They (rich and jay ) have tried to stop it , but Dexter and Bill said no way or they would move there group and start their own. Basically that is why Quixtar was started and they threaten that they would start an online mlm. Another condition was the name change to get rid of the past.
Paul Miller has gone on record stating 75% of his money comes from the System. Somewhere I read about a fellow who wanted to get in the biz and after doing an exhaustive research found out that a person has .00001% percent chance or near that to achieve a millionaire status in Quixtar. In the world system you have a 1% chance.
A great example of tools and meeting money is this fact... when a diamond has his own function in a coliseum the city hosting usually gives it free to them. Where the city makes money is from parking, food, and hotel sales.. so take 20,000 people X $100 a ticket = 2 million dollars.. add up the math I know from insiders Larry Winters gets 400,000 in his pocket at his smaller functions. 2 million dollars split among diamonds and emeralds.
I got $1 dollar per tape from all the tapes. Larry has 10000 standing order tapes each week plus extra tapes ordered.
Tools: tools they say it's a educational system... yet it produces less than a 1% success rate.
I thought you should know that the IRS informed me that I could no longer write off all those expenses in Quixtar after 3 years. It then considers what you're doing a "Hobby". Bummer huh I lost over 60k in 12 years...Come on Scott I should have treated it like a business like my upline told me.. Hey what idiot (me) would stay in a biz that lost money for 12 years.. I learned.
To all. If you are not making a profit after 3 years Quit and get another business. I did after 12 years and now own two companies. One is a nationwide franchise. Most money I have ever made in my life. So Bill Britt when you get on stage and say" I do not know of anyone that is better off financially or spiritually" now you do
FYI: Mickey Hamlett had sold his big home in Raleigh just before Y2K and bought a farm made a fortress out of it ( due the the rumours of a meltdown at Y2K) and has been there ever since..Good riddance he was guilty of several tactics in amway.

Scott,
I want to thank you for your honest (and balanced) attempt to reveal some of the hidden sides of the AmQuix opportunity. It VERY SAD to see such an opportunity corrupted and spoiled by the "love of money." I'm not talking about the dealings outside of the business but what goes on in the business. While many preach "Christian ethics," there is way too much shady advice and practices.
I was in the business for two years then I finally threw in the towel. This was not because the plan didn't work but I had other priorities - family and a career that God called me to. I hated to quit but nevertheless had in order to preserve those priorites. As they say if you're not committed, you will not be a success. Also, I hated the advise to shun family and friends who do not become IBOs. I understand the negativity that may exist BUT there was something that existed to have those friends and there's the undying love of family. SO, why destroy those "gifts" in order to have "success." There is also the support that one may even get in their "pursuit of a dream."
The economic issues focused on your site are VALID! Big distribution stores have to pay land costs, electric, water, garbage, and shipping costs - not to mention salaries and employee benefits. Why then, with the "unique" distribution qualities of AmQuix, can't the prices be competitive?? I don't have a statistic BUT people are price-sensitive. Even businesses shop for the lowest cost per item to turn into a retail profit. It would seem logical, then, that AmQuix would consider to be business-smart.
This is the 21st century. The economic paradigms that once existed are either non-existent or are facing reformation. Such a reform may cost many high-level pins some PV/BV but it would pay off in visibility and make a run for the consumer's money. Just think of it... if AmQuix lowered the prices to be competitive with Walmart (for example), many people would rejoin the ranks of IBOs just to save the money on having to take the time and travel expense of going to Walmart (and stand in those somewhat ungodly lines). To have the same durables and "lasting consumables" delivered to you (or your DD) would be WORTH it.
There is, of course, all those "high-pins" that wouldn't be willing to make their businesses larger and more profitable by taking cuts in PV/BV. Hmmm... perhaps many should join the thousands of those taking an MBA course online - especially with all that "free" time at home. But, then again, those courses may be rewritten and added the "tools club." Perhaps Amway might consider partnering with an on-line university to give PV/BV to those seeking to be a better businessperson.
Anyway.., thanks for taking the time to read this. It's frustrating to see this opportunity grow old and antiquated BUT it's even more frustrating to see the corruption continue.

Scott I was on your website for about an hour. I have a couple of things to say. I think this business is common sense to me. Why not get paid for the stuff your buying?? Another thing I have no clue how it is in other people's business but we don't sell anything. Everyone talks about this business being a pryamid. If it was one I wouldn't gotten involed. Every day life is a pryamid if you want to go that far. Think about it what I just said. You have to eat right?? So when you go to a grocery store or a resturant you pay for your food. So your making the grocery stores or resturants rich and not yourself. But if you owned a resturant or a grocery store I would hope you wouldn't eat or buy from someone else. That is the whole concept of this business. Buy from yourself and get paid for it.

Dear Scott-
I feel like I am living through a made for TV Drama. My best friend, has been sucked into the Quixtar madness.
Scott, I am VERY concerned about my best friend. She met this guy about 8 months ago and quickly said he was the one. They got engaged about 2 months ago and have been working at 'the business' together non stop. She had never explained to me what the business was exactly, I just assumed it was his regular day job. When I started asking questions, the story started to unravel. Her fiancée is 'supposedly' one of the top earners and she is REQUIRED to attend all of these crazy seminars and 'introduce him' so he can speak to his 'team'.
UGH!!! I am so dismayed that my best friend who is educated and would seem above this crazy scam, but she is getting sucked in over her head. She has bumped the wedding from next June to this November (They say "we just want to be married") and cancelled the reception "To save money".
Scott- I think this whole business and this guy she is marrying is just sketchy. I am the maid of honor in the wedding and can't stand up in November and condone this. What can I send her to 'wake her up' from this Quixtar brainwashing. She is literally quoting book titles and her dream is to have lunch with her Diamond. WHAT!!! Before she met this guy, her dream was to have lunch with J-Lo.
I really need some advice, as her best friend, what can I do. Please help! I am at a loss on how to 'stop the madness'.

Mr. Larsen,
I read your review of "Pro-Sumer Power" and I wonder why you are so negative toward Network Marketing? Perhaps you had a bad experience with Network Marketing in the past. At least I want to believe that you have some experience with Network Marketing and not just spouting off an uninformed opinion.
At any rate, I must admit that your statement that "the terribly inefficient MLM marketing method" is inaccurate. If commissions paid to distributors come from the advertising budgets of the products and services sold via a network marketing company, then it is an extremely efficient form of marketing system for these companies since they don't pay advertising dollars until and only until their product or service is sold. That's why many large companies such as MCI, Office Max, Disney, IBM, Sony, Fischer-Price, Hickory Farms and so many others are embracing the network marketing model.
Whatever your prejudices may be, Network Marketing is becoming a very successful model of distribution and may very well be the vanguard for distribution in the future, especially in Asian countries. People complained about the airplane (if man were meant to fly...) when that industry started to take off but they were left behind with dour expressions if they didn't get aboard. You may consider it noble to try and stop the freight train but I believe it's losing proposition.
Tom
Hi Tom,
I'm sorry I was not clear enough. Let me elaborate on the efficiency issue. You are certainly correct about it being an inexpensive way for major companies to promote their products. Sorry I was looking at the efficiency of IBOs to make money, not how cost efficient it was for their employer companies. I could show you how all IBOs could make more money just working for minimum wage and redistributing their earnings with a MLM pyramid type compensation plan. The overall productivity of the MLM business is so low that most will earn far below minimum wage for their efforts.

Good Morning,
I was recently approached by one of these groups in Missouri. I am out on the internet looking for information. I have found your site to be very useful and very up-to-date. I found many of my same thoughts and questions about this group mirrored on this site.
The line of sponsorship that I was approached by is called StarNet Development. I am pretty sure that it is run by Mark Ludwig. I can not find their website. Anyway I was wondering if you had ever heard of them.
Thank you for the information,
Cassie

Hey Scott,
Although we do not know each other I feel that you are honest in your depictions and are showing a blanaced view of the Amway/Quistar, questionable at best and flat out fraudulent at worst, "Modus Operandi." At one point or another in my life (I am only 31, by the way) I have been on the "outside looking in", so to speak, concerning Amway. My brother first and then several friends thereafter, are ripe examples of the deception displayed by this company. Their "cultic" behavior and controlling tactics are a major motivator for me to embark on a search (somewhat like your own) for answers from this very unethical company. I thank you sincerely for your work and research and commend you for your desire to get people out of what seems to be "e-sectism."
Appreciatively,
Dario

Hey Scott - great site. There is a lot of eye-opening stuff here for the uninitiated! I was in WWDB downline from The Duncan's from 1991 to 1997, and I still have friends and business associates in the business. I have more inside information on things (tape and book breaks, uplines treating downlines and former downlines like crap, the huge debt loads carried by some of the Emeralds and Diamonds, etc.) than most IBO's would believe. My incredibly wise and patient wife finally got me to see the light and I quit, and it was the best thing I ever did. May God bless my wife!! Instead of dreaming (hallucinating!) about becoming a diamond, I put all of my work energies into my JOB and now enjoy a low 6 figure income, own 2 Lincolns, a nice home full of beautiful furniture (all furniture paid for in cash), and I take vacations (paid for in cash) that don't involve FED's or Family Reunions or guilt trips. My kids see me more and our marriage has greatly improved. There is life after AmQuix! I will admit that I learned a lot from Amway/WWDB, both good and not-so-good. I still love network marketing, as long as it is done honestly and with integrity. But, you have to keeps things in perspective and avoid the extremism and the "Us vs. Them" attitudes that are taught by some uplines. It is just a business vehicle - no more and no less. There are some very good, well meaning people in WorldWide, but there are a few that I might not shed fears at their funerals except for the condition of their souls. I think my old upline is a great guy and I still talk to him. He is pretty realistic and doesn't try to blow a lot of smoke or sunshine up my skirt! The business works for him and I am happy for he and his family. For me, though, my life became much better when I gave up my "dream". I chalk it all up to an interesting life learning experience and have no hard feelings.
The real reason for my e-mail is the listing of "David and Rosemary Humphrey" under the divorces. David Humphrey is a Diamond under Jack Daughery in ILD ("I Love Daughery!" was our joke name for them). Before Daughery split from WorldWide around 1995-1996, David was newly married to an APRIL HUMPHREY. April was his secretary and was quite a bit younger than him - in her early 20's, I think. I remember David on stage at an FED in Portland (that is where my wife and I spent our 5th anniversary - boy was I a jerk) introducing her and saying how their age difference (he was in his early 40's then) was no big deal and how beautiful a person she was. Yada yada yada. Anyway, if April is not Rosemary, then he was divorced twice, not once. If you can get ahold of any old WWDB Diamond Chips videos from the early 90's you can verify this.
I wish you continued success on your site!

Hi Scott
I was in the IBS organisation in the UK for a number of years and didn't make any money because I didn't put in any effort. We used to have the major conventions at both the Birmingham NEC & NIA at the same time on consecutive weekends. Looking at IBS's website, the convention is now a single event in Telford. The website lists all the UK major pins but I'm wondering what's happened to the inspirational Bernie & Janet DeSouza, who achieved Diamond in 2 years. Neither is there mention of Emerald couples Neil & Ruth Salway and Karen & Renton Ball.
If, as you say, that most of the higher pins' income comes from Tools & Functions, I can't help but feeling slightly betrayed.

Scott,
Great expose site. Just got back from BWW meeting and found your site while doing some due diligence. My wife and I were Amway sales people 30 years ago and dropped out so I was skeptical after 2 minutes of the presentation. All they wanted people to do was buy some products for themselves and recruit new lambs for the slaughter.
Anyway my suggestion-- Post the result of these lawsuits. Some have to be settled by now and it would be interesting to see the results.

Hey Scott,
I read through some of your "Amway Analysis" site. The letters between you and Louie Carrillo caught my attention.
Goodness... You need to chill out, buddy. Consider the following thoughts:
1. We all need brain "washing". Everyone of us. All of our brains, minds, have stuff in there that needs daily cleaning. We eat everyday. We clean our bodies everyday. Don't you think maybe the most valuable tool we have needs a (positive) once -over every day?
2. No organization - be it business, government, church, school, family, country, etc. is perfect. None have been. None ever will be.
3. Inappropriate actions on individuals' parts does not negate the overall value and good of a (good) organization.
4. The larger the organization, even a Great one - even a church - the more chance there is that you will find some "bad element" in it somewhere. Nothing new here.
5. People quit everything - school, marriages, jobs, scouts, piano pracise, football, life. Nothing new here either.
6. God created a perfect world in the beginning.
That's a pretty big organization. Look at it now. Is there some bad in it? Do you think God is thinking, "Piece of crap organization. What the heck good is it? Stupid humans. What a scam. I think I'll just blow the whole dang thing up and start over." ...Hopefully not?... He still sees the inherent good overall in the people of the world. Otherwise...you're in a lot of trouble, Pal. And so am I.
David
Well. Tell you what, Scott, old thing...
I'll continue enjoying my 30,000 sq. ft. home on 1,000 acres, my fleet of exotic (more or less) automobiles, my hangar of WWII, Korean War and Viet Nam era (flyable) airplanes, my 120' Feadship yacht, my beautiful wife, celestial marriage and my eight gorgeous, confident children...not to mention my 3 billion (did I say that?) dollar net worth.
And you keep your eye on the sky, buddy.
Take care.

Scott,
Thanks for the reply.

WE WERE INVOLVED IN THE BUSINESS FOR15 + YEARS-THEN TOTALLY INACTIVE THE LAST 3 OR SO. BO SHORT IS RIGHT ON. I WISH WE HAD SEEN THINGS CLEARER SOONER. WE REACHED THE EMERALD LEVEL. NOW QUALIFYING AS Q12'S.
THE WHOLE TIME WE WERE IN THE BUSINESS OUR UPLINE DIAMONDS NEVER QUALIFIED OR REQUALIFIED AS DIAMOND BUT GO ON LIKE THEY ARE. THERE WERE THREE OF THEM. THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE LIKE US THAT NOW LOOK BACK AND WOULD LOVE TO HAVE THOSE YEARS BACK, BUT THAT ISN'T POSSIBLE. IN ESSENCE IT IS SAD WHAT THE BUSINESS REALLY IS.
MANY GREAT PRODUCTS--BUT THE "SYSTEM" IS SCARY ONCE YOU GET AWAY. I HAVE TALKED TO MANY INTELLIGENT,SUCCESSFUL, EX DIST. WHO SAY IT TOOK A LONG TIME TO NOT FEEL LIKE A LOSER---THEY BEAT THAT INTO YOU. BO SHORTS EVALUATION IS VERY GOOD.
I ORIGINALLY WAS GOING TO GIVE MY THREE UPLINE DIAMONDS NAMES AS ONES THAT HAVEN'T QUALIFIED IN YEARS. IF IT WASN'T FOR THE SPEAKING AND FUNCTION MONEY THE ONE AT THE TOP WOULD BE BROKE,THE OTHER TWO I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THEY MAKE, EXCEPT ONE I KNOW IS BACK ON A FULLTIME JOB.
GREAT SITE YOU HAVE AND MUCH NEEDED.

Hi Scott
As a 12 year veretan amway distributor (WWDB) I find your site very informative. I quit in 95' after losing about 35k to the tool scam! If only I'd had the internet when I first signed up I would have saved myself a lot of misery. Great website. I'm using it to deprogram my old amway 'freinds'. Keep up the good work. Many thanks.

Dear Scott,
I was in Casey Combden's group and can confirm to you that Diamonds Jack and Lisa Proctor are no longer together.
I can also tell you that Mr.Combden Supposed to be EDC: missed Diamond qualification and is now only a big Emerald!!! You want to know why???
Because he is sleeping with is wife (used to be best friend look alike) Jeannie that works for him. Her upline was his qualifying 6th leg that quit cause she was bragging about her relationship and late nights with Casey...They were discusted.....She is still married.... His group does not know cause if they knew, they would all leave. He is out of integrity...He preaches integrity and God's purpose...He is a cheater, and a lier...living in adultery....
Person in the know....

Scott,
Hi! I'm a Quixtar IBO since about Oct of '02. I think you've got an excellent website!! I wish more people were out to present objective and fair information.
I heard some of the Rich DeVos quotes on your website. I really liked what he had to say. Could you please tell me what tapes they are from? I would be very interested in knowing so I could obtain them from Quixtar or through my upline.
I just attended my first major function of Britt Worldwide last weekend, and was shocked to find a cult instead of good business training. That will certainly be my last major BWW function. I'm also concerned that Quixtar lets Bill Britt get away with what he teaches. He basically teaches people to build their business like an illegal pyramid with little mention of retail. He also teaches that going to his conferences and purchasing his tapes & books is the only way to succeed in the business. Both of those are violations of Quixtar's written rules of conduct, which they don't seem to be enforcing. BWW claims a 30 year proven track record.
With a 98% failure rate (I've heard only 2% are Eagles or above), I can only assume he's talking about the money made from his BSM business. I would be very interested to know the ratio of Bill Britt's income as a Quixtar IBO vs Britt Worldwide.
In spite of all that, I still see Quixtar as a good business opportunity, as long as one doesn't rely on their training (at least Britt's training), and is able to find an outside source of real training (or who is lucky enough to have a sponsor who has a proven track record of retailing and makes a positive cashflow).
Thanks so much for compiling all this great information on your site!!
-Patrick

Hi,
I am writing you because I was approached by a gentlemen who offered a business opportunity. This turned out to be the Quixtar system through Britt World Wide. I was wondering if you could inform me as to your personal opinion about this whole "deal" and perhaps steer me in the right direction. And response and elaboration at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time. I found your information very informative.

Dear Mr Larsen,
My wife and i are new IBO's for Quixtar. We have read a lot of informative material from your web site and from others we could find. We do however like the idea of a MLM and think we could do well without all the propaganda that these so called team uplines promote. Our plan is to just run the business honestly by setting up clients, members and IBO's without all the smoke and mirrors and our promotion would go something like this...We let the new prospect see our catalogs(which i think are put together nicely) we show them the business plan and sign them up as a client( so they can view the web site for themselves at no charge or obligation) answer any questions they may have honestly, leave them a business card and let them make a decision on there own.
We WILL NOT be promoting any tapes, videos, rallies, and we'll suggest to any new IBO's that if they are approached by the upline to get involved with this that they should stay away. We will work with them ourselves 1 on 1 to understand the business plan( FREE OF CHARGE ) and if any of them would like to get together for a meeting that they are welcome at my home. we believe the business can be run very inexpensively, and with a little leg work and old fashioned sales we could build enough of a client and member base that we wouldn't have to buy $300 worth of product ourselves every month just to make our PV/BV.
now my question.....do you think it is possible to run this way, or have you heard of anyone being successful without the backing of these bizarre teams, if you could please let us know i would much appreciate it, thanks j and t ( rogue IBOS )

My Fiancée and I got involved in Quixtar approximately 2 months ago, I'm already having my doubts about this business, and I keep getting the NO from all the people I've talked with about the business. I've accumulated several hundred dollars in debt. We have one down line and my total check for last month was get this $5.95. Our down line and us each did a few points over the required 100PV. I also figured if I were to follow the system to a tee, such as doing the 100PV at or over 200.00 open meetings 4.00 x 2 plus the gas to go there 15.00 multiplied by 4 weeks, meals after the meeting for 2 approximately 25.00 x 4 weeks. This doesn't include functions or books, tape, cd's etc. I would be spending on average 392.00 a month with a 3% return on my volume. It's not worth it. I've done the comparison-shopping and I find the products more expensive, that I would save more than my 3% return, shopping at a dollar store or Wal-Mart. I also feel that being an IBO(Independent Business Owner>) Independent meaning 1. Free from the influence, guidance, or control of another or others; self-reliant 2. Not relying on others for support, care, or funds; self-supporting. 3. Not dependent on or affiliated with a larger or controlling entity. For one thing, you are controlled by Quixtar as they do have governing rules for the business. Also you are somewhat controlled by your up lines and you count on the support of others(Down line) to make your business grow without them you would accomplish nothing. I also feel my up lines shouldn't be entitled to a percentage of the volume I generate IS IT NOT SUPPOSE TO BE MY BUSINESS. REMEMBER IBO INDEPENENT BUSINESS OWNER. I figured that if I could save a portion of what I'm spending on the business say 200.00 x 12months x say 30 years to my retirement. I would have accumulated 72,000 not figuring in interest. I also would not be going into debt. And to all those who think of us a quitters, we're not.
The business just doesn't work for all. If it did, the world would be full of millionaires!!! I wish I would have found this page before I became an IBO and to all those who want to try I wish you luck. Just remember before you take the jump do your research and get the facts, and see the pros and the cons then decide. I didn't do this I was sold on what is called the DREAM. To be honest with you all. I have the DREAM already. I have my health, the love of a wonderful woman, and the love of my family. Yes, I have debt and always will. Granted I may never make enough to have the fancy house, the expensive cars, and exotic vacation. Like I said I have the Dream already HEALTH, LOVE AND FAMILY. I would also like to say to that in the end, the rich only have more material things in life and the rich die just like the poor. So, to all, you may already have dream in front of you.
Hi Scott,
I wrote one heckuva letter to you and I chickened out before I sent it. I saved it, however, and will be thinking about sharing it with you to post on your site. I am one of the casualties of the "plugged-in leaders" in the Storms organization. No, I'm not an emerald who invested in the ponzi scheme, but I am a 4000 pv'er who spent over $8,000 per YEAR on the "system" for 10 years, until I was absolutely financially destroyed. It all came to a head this September. I was still fighting to "attend all functions" as the leaders are taught to do, but thanks to the Lord, my time away has allowed my brain to be deprogrammed from the crafty mind-control tactics used to keep me pouring in every cent I had to the "system". I'm left now to rebuild my life alone. My upline doesn't want to hear my "negativity" about losing the house, having the electricity cut off, paying off the loan sharks, and trying to reconcile with my parents for the $30,000 I have borrowed from them over the last 10 years trying to keep up with the "system", all the while promising them that "my day will come" and everyone will reap the reward of my financial gains due to the business. They don't want to hear that. I remained loyal for so many years, not listening to anyone's advice who doesn't have a "vested interest in my financial future" (what hogwash). If you only knew the things I did to keep up the image of a "leader", and keep my ego fed... missing funerals, weddings, family events, time with the kids, my wife, on and on. Wow... Anyhow, I'm now pursuing the Quixtar business the way it should be pursued, without the "system", and by doing the obvious... SELLING PRODUCTS. That's something I was scolded about while in the "system". I had told my upline that I was proud to have 15 customers at my place of employment. Were they proud? No, not at all. To the contrary... I was told that I shouldn't be doing this because it gives people the impression that I'm in a "sales" business, and could really be ruining my chances of getting these people in the "system". Insane. Anyhow, write back if you have time. If I get the courage up I'll share my story for your site. It explains why people like Steve are mind-numbed robots who will defend wrongdoing to the grave. There is no excuse for what the Storms OR the Grants have done. None whatsoever. My own emerald direct was bragging about how he invested double the minimum amount to "get in" to the "fabulous" investment opportunity. $50,000 down the drain and he's still "standing behind Don". Yet another mind-numbed robot, ready to defend this corrupt greed-ridden "system" till the day he dies. It's really sad. Don't let comments from people like Steve get you down. In fact, I'm very thankful you posted the info on your site. It has helped me deprogram, and realize that these perfect "leaders" we have are no different than any other human being on this earth, and that they have fallen succeptible to greed on an Enron scale (it is interesting how Steve used Enron as an example when the greed we have in our "system" wreaks of the same, only on a higher level). Take care...

Hi Scott
Have been perusing the net in search of info on IdaBiz in Australia and how it is connected to Amway as I am currently being prospected. Any useful information for/against would be appreciated. Have been through their site as a guest but it really tells me nothing on the business.
Imagine you are busy so just any websites will suffice.
Thankyou for your time.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Kallas, Australia
As far as I'm concerned...you are willing to criticized the organization...but did you really make the effort...I don't think so....believe me only the willing will succeed...and these are who I want to be around. It's your loss

Dear Scott,
Thanks much for maintaining this web-site. This is a real eye opener. We wish that we were smart enough to have a look before we dived right in. But the moment we got in we realized how cunningly the system had been designed to drain money out of innocent IBOs. The funniest thing we noted is that people, even ones with PhD s get brainwashed to an extent that they do not seem to understand or accept that they are really loosing money on the business, sacrificing time with their loved ones for nothing, lying shamelessly to the down line, faking friendships etc.etc. In short they start embracing bad things and will insist that they are the best things in life! To every question we asked them, their answers were vague or untrue. When we complained direct to the corporation about products not delivered on time and errors made, we were told that we should not discuss these matters openly and bring negativity to the team! The products were not worth the price and only IBOs saw them as 'wonderful'. It was a bad business model that no far-thinking person would get involved in.
The amount we had to spend on tapes, functions, books, etc in the 9 months we were in this so-called business was tremendous and we never learned anything new or exciting from any of them. Yet, our up line would say 'you never know when you will come across something that will turn-around your business!!!" At last it happened! We met all our big-pin up lines, including the famous pinnacle couple at a function and saw right through them!! They were nothing but some business men & women who saw everything in $ signs. However, they were cunning and smart enough to camouflage with sweet talks about family, kids, job insecurity, God etc.etc. and people really fell for that! They forgot that they are merely a free distribution force plus a customer base for Quixtar products!
We have been out of the 'business' for 3 months now and life has never been better. We are working towards our goals and dreams by pursuing realistic and well-thought-out means. Still we get these unbelievably foolish e-mails from our up lines, like the one shown below.
Hey Guys
Those of us who are living in Canada are concerned about "SARS" But I thought that I will send this e.mail to set your mind at peace as in our business we can protect ourselves with awesome products we have. I thought I will list some of the products you can use in your house hold which can boost your immunity and to disinfect your house IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THESE PRODUCTS PLEASE ORDER THEM OR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE NEW SIT WITH YOUR UP LINE AND THEY CAN HELP YOU OUT. PLEASE FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO YOUR NEWEST IBO, MEMBERS AND CLIENTS.

This plainly shows how stupidly insane one becomes by being in this business! The lady who designed this e-mail thinks that simple use of Quixtar products will stop SARs from spreading! She even goes to the extent to say that Quixtar disinfectant kills the HIV virus!! Maybe she should contact the WHO with this important information! Quixtar seems to be the answer for all problems on planet earth! (Maybe she has a suggestion for capturing Bin Laden & Saddam Hussein by inviting them for a Quixtar meeting next time!)
We hope and prey that all these innocent people. We have no bitter feelings about the money we spent on this. We were new in USA at the time and we take it as a learning experience. If our story opens the eyes of at least one person before he/she gets caught, we consider that an achievement!
Sincerely,
Shalini and Dilip Patel

Scott,
Love your website. It helped to open my eyes, and deal with all the guilt I had when I quit the business. I've recently learned that my former upline INET Diamonds Jim & Dinah Martin have left the business. Jim is practicing Veteranary Medicine in KY again. This was relayed through my former Direct to my former sponsor (still a close friend).
Jim and Dinah went Diamond back in 1979 or 1980. He recorded the very emotional and stirring "Keep the Eagle Free" tape, which was still a huge hit in the Amway circle back in 1998 when I got into the biz. I stayed in until early 2001, and (of course) never made any money in 2 and a half years.
Jim was in Bill Britt's downline, somewhere under Dominique Congiallero (sp?). When Britt broke off from Yager to start his own system back in the '80's, Jim went back to Yager. But Britt convinced 3 or 4 of Jim's Directs to stay in the Britt system.
When this was explained to me after about a year and a half in the biz by my direct, I should have put two and two together about the tool money, but it was used as an example of how loyal Jim was to Dex, etc., etc........
The sad thing is that Jim and Dinah probably never made half the money from tools that other diamonds who had all 6 or more legs in the system. This is going to sound strange, coming from a guy who's studied your site and read the "Smoke and Mirrors" book, but I still think they were good people. Jim never pushed too much in the way of tools on our group. We kept things very basic, especially compared to Diamonds like Billy Florence's and Casey Comden's organization (after listening to them speak.)
From what I could observe back in the late 90's, the Martin's probably weren't qualifying as Diamonds, but I can't say for sure. I always heard from my upline direct about a big group Jim had in Ohio, and some folks in Australia. But now, after learning what I know, I'm very skeptical. I do know that to compensate (some) for their "lost legs", Dexter would pay them to speak at several functions a year. He also kept their "Eagle" tape, plus a newer prospecting tape, very visible for all his lines to emplement (throwing a little money back to the Martins).
Thanks, M

Once there was a time when we went to leveland for seminars. It was about a couple or 3 months apart, that's ok. Know it is every month and if you miss one you still get charged the price of the tickets.
The ONE DREAM, ONE TEAM, ONE SYSTEM, might have been the answer. I was wrong again because I was still in for the social aspect.
My expenses far exceeded my returns, although I am still a member I will only buy what I think is good for me and is priced right.
There is a network company that just sells vitamins and minerals and the founder is giving back 60-70 percent to the distributors plus you don't have to purchase tickets and tools etc.
I won't mention its name for this is not the forum for that but I have got make net more in 3 months than in 24 months.
The interbiz system or whatever it''s calling itself now makes it on the tools they sell you.....FACT

Scott,
I have no idea where you are getting your information about the Quixtar ecommerce Business. I do know, I have been involved with Quixtar for approximately a year and a half and it has done nothing but explode! Changing your personal buying habits to consume through your own business just makes sense. Why would anyone want to buy through Meijers, for example, when you have the opportunity to buy through your own business at competitive prices which in turn you profit from? Just like going to a retail store, some prices are going to be a little more expensive and some are going to be less. Although you profit from increasing the volume flowing through your IBO #, Quixtar is more than a "buying club pyramid scheme". This business is about having independance. Just for your information, your website is very iladvised and I'm not sure where you are getting your statistics? In your website you said "this is the last legal pyramid" and that's quite humorous because this business is the ideal model franchise. What makes a pyramid is not being able to surpass your upline in income, which I know is not true about this business because I already have surpassed many of my upline. Unlike the common business, being just an employee you will never be able to take your CEO's position unless death or departure occurs. That sounds more like a "pyramid" than this business, don't you think? I'm just one of many people who feel your website analysis is TOTALLY false!
