Site Visitor E-Mail June 2002

Hello,

A Quixtar IBO approached me the other day to tell me about this wonderful opportunity. I met with him earlier today, and... well, it was a mistake for him to approach someone in sales. I saw through most of his tactics -- the rapport building and personalized approach -- as they're tactics I'm trained to use, myself. I still was a little intrigued, though. Of

course, I don't go into anything without research. A quick search on Google showed your site as the first result for "Quixtar", after quixtar.com itself.

I'm glad it did. Not only was the matter decided in mere seconds (as soon as I saw the Quixtar/Amway relationship), but your site has given me plenty of ammunition for when I meet with him again on Thursday to return the tapes he let me borrow. I haven't listened to them yet; I doubt I will.

Thanks for the informative site.

Hey SCott... I wanted to take this moment to say how incredible the site was that you put together for amquix business analysis. I have never seen such detail to graphs, charts, and numbers, as well as "comments" from visitors or alleged former prospects or distributors. It is one thing to get information and assume it is all true, it is quite another to analyze it

with intellecual honesty and an informed mind.

I have been in "the system" for a number of years and when I first got started, I had all the hyper-analysis you had (well, probably not quite 1/5 that much), but I checked it out. To be honest with you, I have yet to meet a person who can honestly say that they were CORE ( 9/9), including myself, 2-3 nights a week minimum ( plus ten retail clients per month), and being honestly showing 10 people a month for at LEAST 6-12 months who was not at least at the platinum level, making at least $1500-$2700 a month or more, following the guidelines and parameters as instructed. Oh, I have seen

plenty of people who (like myself) probably use the products, talk to people (once in a while or maybe 2-5 times a month) occasionally retail a product to a client, and mostly just like hanging around positive people who have a purpose and direction.

My question to you is, Scotty, have you EVER gone toe to toe, head to head with someone who was HONEST and LEgitimately informed about the system and able to answer your points face to face? CAn you even make those claims add up (the "expenses" section, for instance, where the platinum profit at 7500 pv was not consistent with actual numbers at 78 ibos plus yourself at 25%), or the ASSUMED expenses which you pullled out of thin air or took a random

sampling from some of the more dishonest lines of sponsorship who sell unnecessary stuff). Even given the $3000-$400 monthly expenses, the profit shows up in less than 4 months. Show me ANY business that can do that... and factor in all the bonuses totalling $57,000 at founders platinum, and you put $3200 expenses against $57000 earnings,,, what's wrong with that??? YOU ASSUME the average uneducated joe prospect will step into your web and fall for the mixed numbers and headline fluff you put up without substantiation.

If you have a legitemate claim to truth or objective purpose to your site, I would like to know and MOST important, since I have spent over 10 years WONDERING or looking around the corner to see if there IS something better than amway or quixtar (and so far, aside from being a multi-platinum songrwriter/producer I've found none), COULD YOU PLEASE CALL ME or E MAiL ME IMMEDIATELY with FACTS concerning how I might find the BETTER WAY you

have to beat the job rut system? PLEASE I beg you give me a call to my toll free system 1-877-599-4058, or e-mail me back, if you have the honesty to want to help me.

EM Smith

Hi Smithy,

Thanks for the nice words about my site.

I guess you missed my page on what is way better than Quixtar. Here it is. I'm glad I could help you find a better plan than the Quixtar plan. The Quixtar plan can't even make minimum wage on average for its participants, so my plan has improved on that fundamental weakness.

www.amquix.info/amway_quixt-worx.html

You answered you own question about why more people just don't do the work. They don't feel it will pay off. They feel then their time is used better for other things. I bet you if analyzed the work that a group puts in you will find that everyone on average makes less than minimum wage. Take my challenge to see how effective you group is at

making money for their time. I bet they make maybe $2/hour for their effort.

I was curious where you got the $57,000 per year for a founders platinum?

Let's do some math.

12 months * 7,500PV * 2BV/PV * 25% =$45,000 gross bonus to the group.

Certainly the platinum will get the Q-12 bonus of $10,000 and if it is there first year there are another $8,000 in one time bonuses. All told that is $58,000 but the downline was not paid yet. Did Quixtar give you the $57,000/year number? Maybe you can show me the math where you can. Even if everyone was 3%, at least $5,400 got paid to the downline leaving only $52,600 for the first year Platinum Q-12 and $44,600 for subsequent years.

As far as expenses, fax me your IRS 1040 Schedule C to 801-327-3224 (e-fax) and we can see just how far off the expenses I use on my site are.

I wrote back as soon as I got your mail. I hope this gives you an alternative!

Hope to get that schedule C and a filled out "IBO calculator" back.

Best Wishes,

Scott

LARSEN:

I am glad you answered my e-mail back. I did ask if you had anything better and not in hypotheticals. I checked out that quixwrks and it didnt even make any sense. HOW can you compare a JOB to owning your own business????

ARE you aware of the realistic costs of starting a business in traditional sense? Video store or resaturant... THOUSANds to start and you keep investing THOUSADNS a year until after 2-5 years before you can even make a

living at it. SO again, I asked and got no answer on something BETTER than QUixtar. NOT a job (IF you can count your income by the hour, you are broke). ITs' gotta return after jsut 2-3 years over $150,000-$250,000 in

ongoing income (meaning if I go to europe for a month as I will next june, my income keeps coming). It's got to be LEGAL and equally accessible to most people.

SO if you got somethign better or ifyo ugot a way to compare notes on the information you provided at your site, I would surely love to discuss it.

Mal

Scott:

So can you help me please? sounds like YOU got it figured out. All I want is free time up the wazoo and plenty of money to live with. So, honestly, if you got a way that in the next 3-6 months I can: make $5000 to $15,000

legitemate income amonth with no more than 10-20 hours a week, please show me. This will fund my music projects and the means to properly exploit my hit songs. Also, help me figure out what Glen BAker, MAtt TSuruda, and the

otheres in WWDB had that nobody else has to be "lucky" so they can "win the lottery". Exactly how did they do that and if everybody makes less than minimum wage or nothing at all, how come these guys I've seen personally go from $7000 a month to well over $90,000 a month in less than ten years.

Thas' all that matters at this point is the best, simplest, most direct and honest way to make a small fortune and then turn it in to a big one in the music business.

Please answer back I am serious.

Talk with you later

Malachy

Hi mally,

I guess I can't help you with your quest for a $5,000-$15,000/month business that only takes 10-20 hours per week in 3-6 months. If you believe you can make that much money in so little time with Quixtar then I guess I will have to say go for it. I know of nothing so lucrative, and you can provide no data to back up your claims anyway. All you know

is what the WWDB guys feed you. You have no data from Quixtar, and Quixtar knows what each Quixtar IBO on company fulfillment grosses. If the data were so good they would release it. They aren't stupid. They stopped releasing detailed data when the Internet came out. They want you to get caught in the dream...just like you have been caught.

If you show me your schedule C, I'll show you my bank account. I asked you to show me the "money" before and you refused, and now you want me to show you the money? Come on, get a clue!

There has to be give and take....you just want to take. But remember, I'm not trying to sell you anything unlike WWDB so I'm not sure what the point of me telling you how I could save that much was. You want a get rich quick scheme I don't have one for you.

Regards,

Scott

wait a sec..

you say you know of nothign so lucrative as I am seeking (if not 3 mos, certainly in 6-12 mos.. ) My friends brother in law pays cash for his own airplane, hires two fulll time pilots and has two homes one in hawaii, one in colorado, and paid $100,000 just for the decorating budget.

FActs dont lie and the sa4400 is a legally approved document, both through quixtar legal and the FTC for realistic numbers. ME? I tend to be shy and not good at making contacts. Otherwise, give me a stack of 100 contacts,

I'll show them all in 3-4 months with my 15 hours a week and bet you some will... some won't ... and so what... NEXT

I was sincerly hoping if you knew so much about busienss you could show me how to achieve my goal with somethign better than quixtar, casue like I said, I been looking but aint found it yet. so if you DO NOT Have anything

better, I suggest you cease and decist from your "Analysis" which is nothing more than a way to a)gahter and sell e-mail adreses or b) try to steal eveyone else's dream because you didnt achieve yours.

Talk with you later.

"mally"

Hi Mally,

You suggest I cease and desist. You guys are all the same. All smoke and no facts. Remember you SA4400 says the average IBO makes $115/month. At 10 hours per week, its $2.67/hour. Remember what I said about most

earning below minimum wage?

Ja, right. I could suggest you do a few things to but I won't.

Best wishes.

Scott

As a smaller pin IBO in this business who has made money every year, I write to you in concern over losing a potential business associate. Your web site which is informational is highly inaccurate and full of untruths and misinformation. You obviously have never been involved in this business or have ever done any research into the legalities of our business. As a person like yourself who is trying to be helpful by gathering information for the public, should research everything before providing the information. I ask you to call your attorney general of your state and ask them what they think of this ,call the Federal Trade Commission and get there opinion. I think you will get more accurate information from them than you have got from your resources. Your ignorance is expected because most people do not get the whole truth before making decisions on anything. There are millions of people who fail everyday in other business or work related ventures but it doesn’t mean that business or job is wrong it just means the person did try hard enough or they were lazy or they didn’t follow suggestions from people who have succeeded. This business is totally legal and approved by our Federal Trade Commission of the United States Government and if you ask them it is the standard set for all business in our category. You need to ask yourself why would hundreds o fortune 500 companies be trading business with this company if they were illegal. I challenge you if you have any guts and dignity a real man would do as I suggested above also if you are a real man you can e-mail me with your rebuttal and phone number so I can talk to you man to man, Will see.

Ken

mailto:ksm@montanadsl.net

P.S. Please be careful in your analysis you could be held liable if ever legal actions are taken from that corporation.

Ken,

you wrote:

"This business is totally legal and approved by our Federal Trade Commission of the United States Government "

Call the FTC at 1-800-877-FTC-HELP and ask them if they have "approved" Amway or Quixtar. I called them and the vehemently denied having "approved" the business, like you said they did. It is unfortunate that IBOs like you are so ignorant about the business.

Take care,

Scott

I to have called the FTC and they not only consider this business legal but also it is the standard by which all similar business must compensate their IBO’s. I do not understand your reason for your web site your are crushing the hopes and dreams of people you do not even know. I do not know what happened to you in the past about the business but whatever it was I can tell you it had nothing to do with the corporations we deal with but it probably had to do with a human being and you know as well as I do that humans can screw up. Whoever let you down I apologize but they obviously are not affiliated with our organization. Ask yourself no better call Microsoft and IBM just to name a few and ask them why there are doing business with Quixtar I think you will be surprised.

Hi Ken,

No one let me down in the business. I was just lied to in all sorts of ways. My web site is to address to lies and misconceptions. You still haven't pointed out one example of "false" inforamtion on my site either. Are you having a hard time finding something that was untrue?

No doubt the business is legal. I consider your argument similar to that of cigarettes. They are too are legal but it doesn't mean they are "good". Benson and Hedges has the lowest Nicotine content at 1.26%. I'm sure all the other cigarette brands can use that as measure as well. Many companies sell products to Philip Morris and the other Tobacco companies, even though their other might find the cigarette business appalling. IBM and Microsoft certainly sell their products to Cigarette companies and drug dealers for that fact. As long as Amway pays their bills do you really think IBM and Microsoft care what Amway does or if it is a bad deal for most IBOs?

Let's see how good your line of sponsorship is and your down is at making money for itself. Take my IBO profitability challenge (see attached spreadsheet). It will see if you group is productive enough to be making minimum wage for its effort. Are you man enough to take the challenge?

Scott

What were you lied to about that might be the problem between our communication

Hi Ken,

No, the lies I received are not a problem with our communication. That is a diversion on your part. How can what I heard effect what falsehoods you beleive my site to hold?

I think you just want to avoid learning the truth of the business you are so gung ho about.. Will you fill out my challenge, and will you tell me what falsehoods you believe my site to hold? So far I have answered all your challenges, and you have not answered a single one of mine.

Who is scared of the truth? You or me?

Scott

So far in the eight years I have been involved I have never been lied to maybe whoever you were involved with lied to you but I never have I am sorry you had a bad experience but not all IBO’s are bad

Dear Scott,

I have been trying in vain to find some information about the "Quixtar" that two of my co-workers have become involved in. I was given two tapes. I do not have the other one with me. Quixtar has a website, but once you pull it up you can not enter. I was told it is a new site and their working on it. I am a gatekeeper for an internal site at my job so I know that really means nothing is on the site.

Do you know if Quixtar is just another Amway business? I have been told over and over thatit is not but I'm uncomfortable for some reason. I haven't gone to a meeting yet but the pressure is onfor me to attend. I have also been invited to a meeting on Jun 22 that costs $25.00 pp and my husband is also very leary. Any insight you may have would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Bernice

Hi Scott,

I am so glad that you responded to me so quickly. I feel really bad because my co-workers are so fired up and both of them are truly sincere people. In fact, the one that is trying to recruit me said that she was out until 1:00 a.m. this morning talking to her leader about realizing her dreams. Her husband is also totally committed to this venture. I will have to find the right time to share this with her because I know she will not be receptive.

Thanks again and thank you for your website. If I had not seen it, I may have been tricked into believing

that this was not a part of Amway.

Bernice

Scott.

Thanks again. Your response is much appreciated and I appreciate too the time you've spent with me. It's very difficult to piece things together since there are lexicons unfamiliar to me. The levels too are confusing. I'll have to search your site for the different levels and get to know more about "legs" and what 2500 award volume means in US dollars or sales volume, or what it takes to get to the Sapphire level. I don't believe this Sapphire is stupid or dumb. Just not forthcoming or helpful. Very sad.

I doubt seriously if the Sapphire who is attempting to recruit me will show me his or anyone's 1099. He's strongly hinted it was none of my business. I hear the flushing sound already. Boy, can this Sapphire dance! It's amazing. I've insulted him enough and I don't think he's man enough to take anymore common sense/logical straight forward traditional business thinking questions, inquiries, or debates much less getting any depth discussion about risk analysis, et al.. I've over loaded him as it is by asking what level he was.

No I haven't done the product comparisons or even know what the products are except for Amway, Nuturalite, etc. The Sapphire is short on this topic too.

Scott, thanks again and again.

PB

The brainwashing and mind controlling techniques are strong/overwhelming and are designed to target the weak, the helpless, the vulnerable, the desperate and the greedy to name a few. I had to stop listening to the tapes.

This is the key reason that people in this world hesitate to make positive changes for themselves. I would probabely guess that you've tried one of these "get rich scams" or "amway" businesses in the past. If you still believe that working for other people in a traditional business makes more scense than working for yourself in your own business, good luck to you! The inet generation is here for good. You are using the very tool that makes these businesses common scense to express your very narrow minded opinions. It is very easy to express negative opinions because it does not take any effort! You are the majority in this world, the minority are the successful ones

Scott,

You're going to love this. I went to the AllianceNet website today and registered. It turns out that you will only have full access to the web site if you sign up for the Standing Order Program (either $37/2 weeks or $22/2 weeks). You only have access to the meeting list if you don't purchase the products. When you register you are required to enter your uplines IBO number so I'm guessing that they are sharing tool profits with your sponsor.

No Amway is not on my back-it's just that I think I have "paid my dues" and I am trying to run a software business and it has hurt me financially. Some people seeing that information do not want to do business with me-can you imagine!! It seems Amway Emerald (even ex-amway emerald) is analogous to slum lord in some people's eyes! I have a 13 year old daughter I adopted last year and a wife to support-and I am just trying to make a living. I am hoping whoever mirrored my information will now just respect enough what I did to take it off.

Thanks for the interest-

Jeff

Interesting article about craig, we knew him before and after the am biz. He was a crook then and still. I have managed to help quite a few people get their money back from him using the courts to get only pennies on the dollars back. He is not welcome in the part of the world now.

His wife is not known as a loupelle she goes by Mandel, I have their home address if you ever need to contact them or others need to find them. They live in a small town near Barrie Ontario on yonge street in Elmvale.

While he was building his am biz he would go door to door and get people to buy something, but when they signed the "receipt" he was actually signing them up and HE was buying their KIT.

He would sometimes admit to this in a joking context and no one would catch on.IN other words he bought his way up.

But how could he buy his way up???? Well he was a constant borrower from suckers and friends. A good friend of mine who now lives in Calgary, loaned him 3000 bucks because craig came to him crying saying that he need to get some quick cash because he had promised cara a ski trip, but short on cash- he would even offer up the ownership of the Jeep he had, and of course people would say, " oh don't worry craig" and he would get quite a few people on this scam before news got around.

One time he explained to a bunch of us, that there was another money making venture where he had to try to get 2 sets of people together, home buyers and sellers. Now sudbury at the time was having a major real estate slump, and his tactics included getting a couple that couldn't quite afford the downpayment, and a couple selling who was desperate to get out of the house market.

He would suggest to the vendors that they increase the price of the house on paper, then loan over a day or so, a couple thousand to the buyers to make up the difference so that they had enough cash to qualify for a mortgage (in theory sellers get the amount of money they asked and the buyers get the house. OF course he would handle the cash hand off , but for some reason, several people in town never saw the money, because this type of activity is illegal: what money, i never saw any money.

It is funny, that our friend in Calgary used to be a class mate of Cara, she was always looking for a way to get rid of Craig. Her own family background is something strange, her father was blown away by the mob, and aparently there are many people out there would like to know where her mother lives, in Colorado.

Now the house they used to live in on Kathleen Steet, well the buyer of it started to do some renovating, and while pulling out old cupboards and panels he discovered a cache of pornographic videos and literature- the loupelles had packed up and moved out basically in a hurry.

Nice people huh?

Mr. Larsen

I found your imformation very interesting. My question to you is "If this is such a bad deal, what do you have to offer that is better?"

I find it very interesting that people are very opinionated but have nothing better to offer. I can't remember the last time any retail company has sent me a bonus check, kickback, cash award or anything like unto it for being loyal to them. Or given me a kick back on the people I have referred. I have been involved in building a private franchise for over two years. Some have quit after realizing the effort involved, some have remained faithful customers enjoying good quality products, and some are actively building there own businesses. Do I help them? Yes. Do I expect compensation for my help? Yes. Do they expect compensation for helping their business builders? I would hope so. Am i making the kind of money that i would like to? Not yet. This is a 2 to 5 year plan, not a get rich quick program. Do you make money off of other people? Yes. What business doesn't. I have been an employee and now I own a carpet cleaning business. Thanks to the tapes and functions I learned that being in business is far better than being an employee. Who cares if the emeralds and diamonds are making money off of their tapes. I would want to. Does Steven Covey sell his motivational tapes or books for free or for even at cost. What motivational speaker do you know that does? I attend a function for $6 and learn

from someone with a six figure income and above to be successful in this industry. I would say thats pretty cheap considering the guy who wrote "Rich Dad Poor Dad" was offering a seminar for $5,000. Checked out the Covey leadership prices lately? It's sad when the social security administration has the statistics that 98% of the people reaching age 65 are either dead or broke. 2% are financially successful. I surely don't want to be a part of that statistic. I would be interested to know what you do for a living? How much you make? Do our product prices compete with generic prices? No way. We are in competition with name brand quality products. Theres no secret in the way I build my business. It's too bad that some distributors have ruined the reputation. Quixtar will never teach you how to build your business. They supply the products. Sure there are some governing rules. There has to be. There is only room for one dream in a business and thats the business owner. Who always makes the most money? The owner, the guy at the top, all business is a pyramid. Have I made a profit in my carpet cleaning? No not yet. It will take me about five years to pay off my loan. Shopuld I quit? Long term is the key. When you own a Macdonalds Franchise, who makes most of the money, the franchisee or the franchisor? The franchisee does. He pays a royalty fee to the franchisor. If the franchisor (like macdonalds) has over 25,000 franchisees, who makes the most money? The franchisor does of course. Will a macdonalds owner ever be wealthier than the corporation? Never. Can I make more money than my sponsor? Yes. If I do more work than him. When my sponsor is a platinum and I reach the platinum level he will from then on earn 4% of my total business. What you might not realize is that his 4% residual overide does not come out of my profits. It is paid by quixtar. How can they do that? Easily. Just think about the money quixtar does not spend on stock holders, advertising, jobbers, etc... Thats a lot of money. So you see, anyone can have an opinion. Does this business work? It has for me. It's too bad the large percentage who quit never gave it a real try. That's all it was is a try. I never succeeded at anything I tried. I've always succeeded at the things I've done. Do you think those diamonds became wealthy overnight? No way.

They just never quit. They didn't try, they did.

I really be interested in a reply.

Should I base my decision on Altcore? Altcor run other businesses too.

Were you in the business at one time in your life? Are you still in the business? Did you know a person who

is close to you who is also in the business? The reason I am asking is for you honestly to tell me if

Amway/Quixtar deprives you or that person the bonus you deserve. Meaning, you or that person generated

the proper Point Value and Amway/Quixtar informed you in any form that you do not get a bonus because....

This is important to me because if I generate the proper PV I must get paid.

I have few more question, I am saving them until I here from you?

Opportunity seeker.

Scott,

I tried. I send. I feel like giving up.

These guys are absolutely, positively brainwashed. The company is literally crumbling around them and they still think that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

They are good people, Scott. I really hurts.

The only way I can explain it is how a friend feels when he's lost someone to a cult.

How in the hell do I get through to them?

Franklin

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Frank,

Here's a reality for you! If you make $50,000 at age 35, you need to save 717/mo. after taxes to maintain your income at age 65. This assumes no disability, job change and that you are totally vested with your company. The latest data from the Department of Labor shows that 97% of people with jobs by age 65 are either dead, disabled, or dependant on others. Eighty-five percent of the people who make it have their own business. Shona and I choose to have our own business, how 'bout you Frank?

You see Frank, people are people anywhere you go or in any business you find! Any people who A) have used wrong approaches or B) who don't know much about our business; do no more to taint the business model in my mind than had they spoken harshly about your religion or anything else you feel strongly about! Do yourself a favor and take this site and others off your favorites list.

Now, if you'd like to gain useful information, listen to someone that I trust, someone who is not on the website you sent me, come to Atlanta on the 28th of this month. But if you continue to take sides and listen to the nay Sayers on the web who you have no relationship with, then I consider that a breach in our friendship!

It's your choice! Shona and I have already made ours and we're sticking to

it unlike your "friends" on the web!!!

Sincerely,

Dave and Shona

Hello Scott ~

I've been keeping up with the latest on Am-Quix and low and behold the giant seems to have stumbled. We've conversed in the past and I've sent you a tape or 2. I wanted to share with you my (former) sponsors site. Jody Victors' org www.markerman.com It looks like he spent a little of his tool profit to create a cool looking flash presentation. I must admit it is catchy, but some of the things are the same old same old...leave a legacy...yeah right! Underneath all the glitz and hype it's the same old shit. The rest of his lame site (after the flash) is the same. It's typical mindgames...create a distraction to get people off of the facts. I can just picture all the drones in the audience (I was one of them at one time) ooohing & aaahing at the new cool website to show their prospects.

One other thing...funny how when I confronted Jody a few years ago he vehemently denied any MMP Diamonds (or any other pins for that matter) making a profit from the tools, yet you know he and his cronies are among those behind the ibofacts.com website.

I'm certain you've got a whole other life going on (in Germany still?), but I must say I do enjoy reading your stuff.

Take care.

Scott,

We are not big in the business, have been in for years, attend functions, and really like our own upline. However, the financial burden is getting heavier and we are getting uncomfortable. It's getting close to fish or cut bait time and I don't expect to fish. We don't want to hurt anybody at all, just looking for info for our own sake.

Best regards.

Well, maybe some groups do it differently. We just spoke with our diamond and he said that about one-third of his income is generated from the tools --the rest is from the corporation. The thing is --we know it can't be built without the tools very easily --the motivational system in place is highly effective in assisting people with their goals and strategies. What do you propose they do to eliminate the so called "conflict" of interest?

jen

Scott,

thank you so much. Your site is an incredible help. I was part of 'it' for many years.

I AM FREE AGAIN, thanks to dedicated people with common sense like you.

Thanks,

Georg

Dear Mr. Larsen,

Having taken into consideration both good and bad sides of Amway business, I've decided not to engage myself in it. Such decision has been supported by questions you sent to me and by objective analyses available on your site.

I'm extremely surprised by IBO persistence; he insisted on another conversation trying to persuade me to change my decision. So, IBO lost additional two hours (and I myself was suprised how patient I was). Such behaviour and «persuasion» strengthened my decision to give up. Namely, I do not want to loose my time and energy persuading my friends of something I myself don't believe at all.

Once again, your site is extraordinary. Congratulations!

Eduard

I've read the information that you present and it seems to be informal in many ways. I feel that you as an individual are knowledgeable in this market and in the traditional ways. Please understand, I've asked these questions in the past to my upline and received the facts (tax papers). They do make the income that is predicted and I'm "duplicating" their process as we speak. Yes, I am getting paid very well. But, there is another tangent that has not been discussed. The business is not all about making money. It's about balance in life. It's about the American dream and the pursuit of happiness. Sir, your focus in life is different than other people. I know you do mean well but I've not read anything positive in this article. Any corporation anywhere is going to have some "dirt on it's face" simply because it's ran by human beings and it's exposed to human beings. No one or nothing is perfect. But, I do know that anyone can do anything they want if they believe it AND work for it. So many people look at that 1% that they may fail in life rather then take a swing at the batting plate and risking a strike out. If you never take a swing then you will fail 100% of the time. It's the successful people in this life that risk getting the strike out. Thank you for your information.

Scott,

Here is something I found in the Drudge Report website (www.drudgereport.com) quoting a WSJ story. It seems the IRS is under fire to tighten the loopholes. I wonder if they will start with "The Most Ethical Business on Earth" ??? Seems to me, if North American FIRED UP! IBO's number around 1 million (I am being generous here, assuming 10% annual growth from their 1998 estimate of 750,000) and shall we say no more than 40% of them are from Canada, that still leaves at least 600,000 hamsters paddling furiously in their DOUBLE X powered exercise wheels, chasing that carrot on the stick called FREEDOM.

Amazing, the IRS could reach 85% of their estimates by just auditing one company!

Keep on strokin' Scott!

Frank

I commend you. The work to put this together must have been phenomenal. For what it's worth, thank you for the effort; your research made it possible for me to reply to a friend with adequate information who wanted to enlist me as a potential downline.

I would like to suggest that in pages in which you quote IBO's and others' replies to your site, that you also include a link to the section of your site, to which they refer.

I want to see if a customer (not an IBO) can actually save money buying on Quixtar, or even if an IBO can save money buying on Quixtar. Do you have any data like that on your site? I haven't been able to find it.

Thanks in advance, if you have the time to read or reply to this.

Hello Mr. Larsen,

My name is AnnaLisa and at 18 (July2001) I began the Quixtar program located in San Jose, CA. Not getting a tax return for my expenses was the least worst of my troubles with this "company." They used many techniques to avoid being upfront with me. They would only tell a person what he/she wanted to hear and then waited until it was to late until they let it be known that the situation was not what they had made it seem like in the first place. Often at meetings they would tell us to get a friend to join and if the friend asked any questions regarding the validity of the company, either we should "put them off" (avoid the question," or send them to our "upline" who would do it instead. They encouraged me to lie to my friends and family, even distance myself from them and side with the company on all matters. I don't know if this qualifies as brainwashing, but I am betting this is not standard procedure at most legitimate companies. It did not take long for me to suspect that something was not right, but I wanted to see how far they would go and at the same time remove all doubt that a scam could be so huge. They discouraged me to ask questions about the company or particular procedures.

Quixtar will call you an IBO (independent Business owner) and then turn around and tell you that you have to qualify according to their standards of success. I attended several "functions" which are regional meetings, and was told I would get a tax refund/credit which I was told by the IRS was not a valid business expense. Eventually they told me that I had to buy books and tapes in order to move up in the business, which meant 1 book and 1 tape a week at about $12-14 a week. That did not last long! They charged $10 per weekly meetings they held at the DoubleTree Hotel in Downtown San Jose where often certain speakers made racial and gender biased remarks. Those tickets were to be tax refundable too! What came to my attention also was that each book and tape that they said I could get a tax refund for was impossible, since Quixtar probably buys the books in bulk and claims the refund first, and to my knowledge the same item cannot be claimed for a refund, but they will tell you it can. They never gave out receipts for tax refunds either no matter how many times I or my mother asked. The whole experience was horrid. It took a good friend to wake me up to the lies. I eventually wrote the Better Business Bureau and Quixtar was made to refund the startup fee. I now intend on sending back any books and tapes to my upline for the rest of the refund. I only wish this website was available sooner.

Best Regards,

AnnaLisa (ex-IBO)
