Hello Scott, my name is Wil. First of all I must commend you on your website. Recently, I was approach by a "friend" of my mine letting me know about this company "quixtar". I went to his house and he shared some info with me, immediately I ask him if this was amway (since I've heard some bad rumors about this company) and he absolutely said it wasn't. I am still looking threw your website but I would like to know two things. One, is this still amway operating under a different busy name, and two, if it is amway why did they change their name and why do they have their distributors deny it. I know that before I make any decision I will read all the information and links you have on your site. Thanks again for all of that information.
Sincerely,
Wil![]()
Scott,
I have to share a story with you.
I am a full time and successful real-estate agent, and part owner of a very well known real-estate firm.
I have recently sold a house to a nice older lady who gets in my car one day and shows me "Quixtar". I guess I was curious. Then she hands me a bag of tapes to which I listened.
There is something creepy about these people who get up there on stage and literally "Preach" about this business. They seem hypnotized as if in a cult. The tapes are absolutely worthless, just a bunch of people screaming out loud about how wonderful life is, how fast their Porsche goes, and how anybody can do this business.
They (the tapes) turned me right off. I have not had the heart to tell my client this, but I will shortly.
Your site has a quote from a woman who got out of a relationship because her boyfriend became obsessed with this business. "Obsessed" That is exactly the feeling I got when listening to those tapes. Or would the word "Possesed" be more accurate?
And you have to pay for that junk?
No thanks.
Feel free to post this.

Scott- unfortunately I got "in the bizzness" before I found your site. But that's ok I am only out the Quixtar kit and one "fleet open", My dogs did enjoy the overpriced dogfood from the "partner store" and the PV I got didn't amount to the crumbs in the bottom of the bag. I sent the link to my upline and got the first response last night telling me about how you were hired by P&G to put this site up, it was bogus and all the times they have attempted to contact you they got no answer. This apparently confirms that this site is bogus and "they" are right. I told my wife who I should have listened to in the first place that I would show them your response and then ask the big question- Please show me EXACTLY what is not true on this website. Thanks! Bob

Dear Scott,
I hope you don't mind people writing you just to sing your praises, a relative of mine just got involved with this scheme and your site has been invaluable at putting into words and figures what I suspected. Trying to persuade him that the plan, from a business point, did not make sense was like trying to argue religion with a fanatic. The emotional schlop that these cheesy "diamond" and other stupidly titled execs use to worm their way out of accountability is telling. I checked out the prices myself and found them to be outrageous. Thank you for doing this wonderful public service you are a benefit to the community!!!!
gratefully yours,
Maggie

All I can say is, wow, thanks for putting so much time and effort into your site. I recently was asked to join Quixtar. Lots of the details of the system seemed fishy to me, and your site helped confirm it. Now I know my approach when I'm supposed to have another "meeting" this Monday. So much of what your site says about sponsors and such is so true.
Thanks again!
Ron

Dear Scott,
What a fantastic site. I would like to thank you for the time and effort you have obviously spent on this very informative site. It has a cold light of day look at the hype I keep getting presented with from "friendly" people. I particularly liked the section where you answer some of the most frequently quoted myths and give assistance on politely saying no. This is the information that I needed to politely address the people approaching me with unsubstantiated claims about this "business opportunity".
Thanks again

Dear Scott,
I have come across your website tonight.. Just in time it seems to me. I go to a Quixtar meeting Thursday and my husband and I were almost ready to sign on the dotted line! I will show your website to him. I was very moved by the success stories in the books they offer. Thanks for your input.

Hi Scott
My names is Bill I just wanted to tell you thanks for this web site I'm sitting all bummed out and my bubble popped, But I would rather it be pop now than go down that road I was about to head down. I always thought there was something up with "BIZ"
My wife got me to look at it and I started to see how excited she was so I thought it was a good thing. But me Mr. Enquizitor had a lot of questions and she didn't have them. So I went on the web and found your site.
I could not go for a dream like that if it meant not have any morals, it's just not right. But hey Greed does that to people. I would rather be flat ass broke than do the "BIZ". I did notice how my wife and I have been so close lately Its sad it take dream like that to do it. I haven't told her about this yet and it isn't going to be easy but my love for her is stronger than anything or dream the "BIZ" has to offer.
The sad thing is, her father is the one who got us to look at the "BIZ". He and his wife have been in it 12 years they are about to go Emeralds and they where hopping we would be the one to get them there. But after reading your site I realized it is going to get worse for them all I can do is pray for them. Once again Thank You for letting me seeing the truth not the dream or should I say NIGHTMARE.
Bill

I attended a meeting last night and realized afterward that I hadn't been told yet what it was all about. I went to ask.com and asked the question, what is amvox? and came upon your website. Thank you so much for the info!! I feel totally deceived and betrayed by this so called friend. If I had been told it was Amway from the get go I would have said no way. Now I have the ultimate pleasure in telling this friend where to stick his business. I remembered the mention of pacesetters, standing order tapes and amvox and am thrilled that I have this computer to check things out. Thanks again!!

Hello Scott.
Just wanted to add my thanks to your email list for creating your sight. I am/was a prosect for the Quixtar program. After attending (and paying for) a "seminar" which was actually a rah-rah motivational session for IBO's, I began to get a funny feeling about the whole program and began to "smell a rat". Your site just about blew me away, as it confirmed many of my own suspicions, such as the secrecy and "curiosity" method of introducing the program, the emphasis on selling "tools", the hard-sell promotion of the Cruise, (necessary for all IBO's) and the emphasis on the DREAM. All style, no substance.
Thanks again. Glad I found your site before I made a very bad mistake.
Kevin
hi Scott,
Yes, they are promoting a Cruise that IBO's can attend if they make enough points. I dont know if they had to pay a portion of it or not, but the presenters kept hammering away at the promotion, playing a recording of a cruise ship horn throughout the presentation and having everyone stand and raise their hands if they were "Going to go on that cruise, so IMPORTANT to help you build your business!!"
Kind of hokey. Anyway, will let you know if I run into anything else as I disengage from the whole thing.
Thanks again.

Read your site. Been turning this down since 1982. Was just about to join when I read your website. My wife likes the make-up is there any other place to buy? Will send your info to my used to be friends. There car is full of motivational tapes. They have been it for 4 years. They now only hang with people who succeed in life. Thanks for taking the time and doing this website.

Dear Scott,
Unfortunately, I don't have any great information for you as I never joined Quixtar although we just attended a presentation last week. It seemed interesting, but I felt that many questions were unanswered, so I started searching and found your website. It confirmed what I thought and helped me understand why the person who introduced my husband and I to the plan was so upset when I said no. Boy, was he upset. He was the speaker the night my husband and I attended, so I am sure he is doing quite well, but not well enough to give up his day job and he's been doing it 10 years. He told me he had 700 people under him, so I asked him what their average yearly income was from the business and he said he didn't know. This didn't make sense to me. I got the line that I had to do this on Faith and if I wasn't willing to do that then I would never be a successful business owner. This may be true, but I'm also not going to spend money on products I don't need and continue to lose money. He was also very upset that he was told No by me (female). He expected my husband to make all the decisions and even made a regional comment that maybe where I'm from things are different, but in his home he's the boss. That makes me really want to be involved in the business (LOL). He also said that the business is his ministry and that he hopes that I could live with myself for giving up this great opportunity. I also had to send back the tapes and video he gave us. I couldn't believe it. I'm sure you get letters all the time. I thought I'd share my story.
The man who introduced us is Marty Waugh. I have no idea what level he is.
For a business that is supposed to give you more time it sure seems to take away time. Happy Holidays!!!

My name is Philip. My wife and I were approached by a gentleman we had met in the store one day (he remembered my name, tracked me down via 411), he told me that he had an opportunity to make some extra cash via the internet. I work in the IT industry, so the thought of getting some extra cash working w/ a web site was a great idea.
We met for lunch one day, he went through his presentation and invited us to one the weekly meetings. We left the meeting with several questions, and no really firm answers. My wife and I went through the catalog, comparing prices. I was astonished at the cost of many of the products. I inquired about this, but again, didn't get an answer I was comfortable with.
Seeing that we weren't getting any answers to our questions, I took to the Internet to find out some more information. I have come across your sites, scoured them word for word. I have seen the light. My wife and I will not be joining the cult of Amway/Quixtar!!
Thanks to your research and posting of the information on the Internet there will be two less people joining Quixtar. Keep up the good work!!
Philip

Dear Mr Larsen,
A friend of mine - a doctor, like myself - has been persistently attempting to sell me the Quixtar dream for some time now. I had been putting him off only because of a negative gut instinct - I was unable to put my finger on why I didn't think it could be such an easy way to get rich. Fortunately, on the verge of signing up, I came across your site. It's brilliant! You've obviously put a lot of effort into the site and I hope it prevents many more people like myself from losing hard-earned money and, more importantly, friends.
Well done on simply laying out the facts.
Best wishes,
Alistair

It's an interesting program, I will be honest the first three things that popped in my mind when I went to the rally (before I never had these thoughts maybe it's only for those who are RELIGIOUS) I had doubt, guilt (signing up other members) and this organization is masonic or the system itself.
What I notice (if you are religious "christian" in the bible it says don't do pharmakia that's a greek word similar to the word PHARMACY or drug a person, it can also mean to interpret as to brainwash someone for your own interests or witchcraft as it has been translated into english). What was shocking a lot of high level diamond members are physicians/doctors/psychologists maybe they're better equipped to brainwash people than others interesting the pharmacy/pharmakia words relates to those people. I also noticed the guy who recruited me was chinese he said he was an atheists so I can imagine those that are good at working on this system or signing up are not that religious at all. He said only 1/3rd of the people that go to the rally's sign up as ibo's and he only recruits people that have an interest in the system (he doesn't waste his time with people who aren't sure or return his calls).
The other part this quixstar company is a threat to a lot of organizations (that is what the chinese recruiter was pointing out to me about the negative things people are mentioning on the internet/newsgroups) including the local retail neighbouring stores and employees. And also domination once a company gets a strong domination they will start screwing the IBO's maybe even manufacturers. For example with the food industry franchises are not only taking money from customers but once they have become big they start taking all of the franchisees/store owner profits (renovating stores every few years, raising wholesale costs, new equipment etc..) who is to say they may do that to IBO's in the future or change the system, same with microsoft screwing the licensees who make software products for windows by raising royalty fees. This is scary because this company is selling everything they even sell non-parishable foods so you can imagine how much of an impact they can have on the whole world if they get big domination (they say quixstar is now #5 on the top 5 internet company's along with amazon etc..) and all they have to do is feed on peoples obsessions/lusts in the money field. I'd say this industry is almost as powerful (on peoples lusts that is) as the porn industry (the two top words people search for on the internet are "free" and "sex"). Amazing system, this system somewhat incorporated I think what was it originally? In religion ie masons, jehova witness, scientology, mormons, pyramid scheme but it's as if they took the religion out of it and made it strictly business.

Hello Scott. My name is Jim. I was going to do the Quixtar thing until I read this site. I would like to say that I admire you for making a difference in so many peoples lives that visit this site including mine. What do you do for a living now, if you don't mind my asking? I am presently studying law, so as to expose companies like this one. I have had my share of experiences myself. I don't know if you have heard of N.O.S. Communications or not, but their a scam. Any ways, I don't know if you are religious or not but it stifles me how they pray before meetings then knowingly jam bogus info down your throat. The IBO trying to sign me up refuses to allow me to view the savings margin for an IBO member, he say's he can only do that if I sign up. I personally checked pricing I was familiar with and found on the average that they were twice as high. Then I seen this site and confirmed what I thought. I bet their is not much of a difference in wholesale price, do you know? Thanks sincerely Jim!

I went to a meeting sunday to here about this great business opportunity. It sounded great but my wife and I like to research anything we get into. thank god I found your site. you probably saved me alot of money and headaches.
thanks again.

Scott,
I am currently researching this opportunity. I wanted to get involved with an Internet company and Quixtar "sounded" great. As I continued discussions with a gentleman, I began to feel some cautions and so did my wife. I did not want to get into the Amway business. Never did see the plan...
Your site has given me a ton of useful information and I am very grateful. I can now see clearly why I had these cautions, but I am disappointed because I was thinking it was something that it isn't.
Thanks again for all your efforts!
Kind regards,
Scott

Hi,
I just wanted to tell you your site helped me so much.
First, let me just tell you my english is probably not great. I live in Montreal, Quebec in Canada and my first language is french.
I did not know a lot about Amway. But in the last few days I probably read 100 pages on the Internet about this company, its business model, the "tools" and all these amazing things.
I can't believe I almost got involved in such a scam, without knowing it. It is a lesson I will never remember.
Of course the guy who talked to us about this was very interesting and convincing. My girlfriend used to study with him a few years ago. He talked to us about the "unique opportunity for making money with e-commerce". At first it seemed great. But he would never get to the point. It was always about our future, our dreams. He said we had to come to an "open" and hear the pros talk about it. So we went. And it was actually... fun. And then we went to another one, a seminar they call it. We were supposed to learn more. But the speaker (and Emerald) just talked even more about his wife, kids, family, how he met his wife...
We were still interested in the e-commerce business, but there was so much talk about dreams, opportunities, our family, our health... and so few about business. We started to think it was maybe a new way of introducing a new business concept. We were so naive!
The two first seminars were in english. But our first language is french, so we went to a third one, this time in french. The speaker was one of the only two Emeralds in Quebec. Our friend talked about him like a great businessman, experimented and intelligent, etc. It was funny. But still...
Anyway, I was about to say yes, thinking that we could just do it the way we want, forgetting about all these strange seminars.
And the next day I made a search about Quixtar on the web. I never had time before. Too busy working on a rush project.
And then I found your site. AMAZING. I could not stop reading. I went on other sites about the same subject. And, as I said, I probably read 100 pages about all this on the Internet.
So thanks a lot. Sincerely. You helped us so much.
Maintain this site alive. It is invaluable information. You do a great job.

I recently checked out your site, and I am real glad I did. I am 19 years old, about to start college, and I was actually worried if I would have to time for Quixtar. Now that I know what it is really all about, there is no way in hell that I will give them a dime of my money anymore. I sat down with the guy who sponsored me to look at your page to maybe open his eyes, because I really like the man as a person. However, he said that you did not know what you were talking about. I think he has become Amwayed beyond control. Most of the issues on your page were sort of avoided. I feel somewhat bad because he spent a good month or two on me, but I am not going to waste my time just because he wasted his time. Once again, thanks a lot, great site.
JP
I totally agree, yes I was told that I could save money, 30 percent, which was one of the key factors in me signing up. So was the PV/BV issue. If "the business" was what I was told it was, then I would have given it a true effort. I was actually going to do it. But there is just no way that I am going to go in someone's living room and lie to them. I can't believe the Microsoft/IBM partnership. I don't think they would ever pull such a dumb business move. I listened to a tape today and it is just unbelievable how much they just don't talk about the business and talk about things like their life story, the house they now have.
I actually had an idea, I don't really know if I will act upon it, though. I was thinking, what if I did this Quixtar thing, but told no one to buy the tools, not to go to the meetings, and to only buy things that they would actually save money on. And the people I sponsor would tell the people they sponsor, and I would have a huge network doing the exact opposite of what is supposed to be done. I would feel much more at ease, and also it would be a slap in the face to the Diamonds. I think it would be great to do at a later time.
Thanks

Hi Scott,
Amivo is name for new national versions of Quixtar (besides existing australian version a2k.com.au). I come from the Czech Republic, Central Europe and domain amivo.cz is registered here by Amway Czech Republic. It is going to start early next year.
British Amivo (www.amivo.co.uk) should have started in 22.11.2000 even site www.221100.co.uk informed beforehand about it (like www.countdown99.com).But it failed. A reason was that they are testing the site (according www.amivo.co.uk).Now it looks like we have to wait more than one month (Christmas sslesare lost). I think other national versions are postponed as well.
National version of Quixtar was very attractive for my friends but this failurehas confused lots of them. Dream is fading away...
Regards
Lubos

Scott,
I was recently talking to a person in a public place (who I just met) who said they know of an e-commerce business looking for sharp people like myself. Well one thing led to another and she called me a week later and put me on the phone with another guy. He gave me this talk saying how he heard good things about me and that he would like to meet with me cause his business is looking for managers with motivation like myself. He went on to say he was interviewing about 18 people and he would only choose two for the manager positions. Well I asked if I would have to sell stuff and he said no. Well to cut a long story short him and the other person who asked for my phone number originally, came over to my house but did not answer to many questions and only gave me a web address and said that there are two more interviews that I would need to go to before becoming a team member, and also that they are really tuff in there selection process. Well I went to this web address and read it all and it didn't tell me much, but it had a password protected area near the last page that was for people that had already had their second interview ( it says enter the password you got after your second interview, I just finished the so called first interview). Well being curious and also being a web designer, graphic artist, and code editor I decided to try to get into this password protected area. well I guessed the password, and it was correct! it was (team) well I read a little bit more and still did not know enough so I decided to try to get into another area of their site called the t&e intranet (also password protected) well after cyphering thru there code I got the password for that as well which is (platinum). I found documents and web pages that had telephone scripts and letters. what is really weird is that the telephone page that I came across while in this member area was everything they had told me on the phone, it was exact how they were only picking 2 people out of 18 and everything. What would you do if you were me. Do you think ill get in trouble for going in there. here's the web address
http://www.te-international.com and the passwords for the areas are listed in this email. one is team and the other is platinum. its not an intricate site like they try to make it out to be. I got the password for the intranet really easily. I doubt they will know that I even got in there. cause that password platinum is for every member, not to intricate. give me some advice and check out the bullshit in there. I think they are Amway in disguise. I, like yourself dislike deceiving marketing practices. and I only got so curious about the info because they would never give me direct answers.Scott,
Thanks alot for your reply, I was thinking they were amway or something. I got the right mind to tell them off next time I talk to them. There are 7 different links in this site. go to the intranet page and type platinum, but you must click the login button, because hitting enter doesnt equal submit on their site. I just went in and platinum is still the pass. If you dont get in this time, let me know and ill download the pages or the infro from the pages and ill forward them to you. Oh and here is the exact url: to the intranet login page when you get there type platinum and click the login button. Please exploit this company if you can. I would definitely think that people need to be warned about this company because their pitch is that they dont want you to sell anything, they are very deceptive. . Oh and I also saw a reference to AMVOX or something like that in these pages, and that led to believe that it is a part of Amway. Yea and I agree with you if it takes deception, i dont want anything to do with it. Take care and thanks again.
What gets me the most is how all these people claim to be so damn religious.well let me know what you think when you get in, just make sure you press the login button after you enter password cause hitting the enter key after entering password want get you in.
Take Care and keep putting out the good word. let me know what you think when you get in....

I just want to say I love your site! It is extremely informative and very detailed. I don't think you left any stone unturned. Not only did it answer all my questions, but it left me laughing. Some of your answers are very witty. The best part has to be the great ending -- leaving Amway's 1-800 number.
I attended a Quixtar meeting at a friend's house and wasn't left the warm fuzzy feeling like everybody else. I was left with the it's too good to be true feeling. I left the meeting and stood around talking to some friends outside when a member of the upline swooped in like a hawk for the kill. He tried to sell the product saying how great it was. I handed back his materials he was pushing and told him the Titanic looked great too, but look what happened to those people. Anyway, I wanted to research Quixtar to make sure I wasn't going to miss the boat while all my friends we're jumping on board. Well, thanks to your site it sealed the deal and reassured me that my gut instinct was right. Now whenever I talk to my friends about Quixtar I get responses like "I'm not qualified to answer that question" or I'm being a dreambuster. Gotta love that Quixtar brainwashing lingo.
Anyway, thanks for all of the great information. The research and resources you used were excellent!

Scott: You have done a wonderful informative site for anyone who is thinking of buying into this absurd business. It is so curious that so many people continue to be attracted to a company (AMWAY) so vilified and exposed over and over again for years. (Guess it helps they keep changing their DBA)
The movie --Go- (a teenage version of Pulp Fiction) has a wonderful scene that totally spells out how obsessive and out of touch these AMWAY people seem to be. I do understand that at one time you were an insider and certainly have gathered enough facts to reform you and led you to being the advocate who has fully researched your subject.
My story: LAST weekend my sweet naive brother in law drove up for a spur of the moment dinner ... and lo and behold brought two "friends".... hmmm. My husband I did have a heads up that he had met some people recently and had attended a seminar so our SCAM radar was up. So... these very friendly folks asked us all about our lives during dinner (never really caring WHAT we said- it is all about using and abusing) They even approached strangers in the restaurant and got them to give them their business cards.... Creepy and scary.
THEN when we got back to house. THE Pitch! Oh, lets watch this video... we want to SHARE a great deal with you. Their point - they are not SELLING... I interrupted -- Oh, yes YOU ARE. They Did not slow them down.
After their presentation.... it was our turn: Thanks so much for driving for two hours to see us ... but we have time consuming jobs and lives and do not wish to put in all the hours toward this and I don't believe in using my friends, families to make money. My husband tried to soften blow... I am sure the products are good -- but we are just not interested. THEY took that as opening and said, we will be back on Tuesday... meet at Marriott for the seminar. What drugs are given to these people to make them so hard headed and obnoxious.
We politely declined AGAIN... they said they would be no hurt feelings if we declined. Yet they again pursued... and said they would call us again to see if we changed our minds... GEEZ!
I am printing out your site and sending it to my brother in law... he probably won't listen (he is caught in the CULT...thought process--- BE a part of US).
thanks for further reinforcement --- to the Ulterior Motives of these Very Friendly AMWAY (Quixtar) folks.

Thank you Scott.
I met with my friend as scheduled.
Total time invested thus far:
2 hr. open meeting (presentation)
3 hr. meeting with him and his wife.
3 hr. meeting with him personally.
I pointed out that 99% of all members don't go diamond. Heck, 99% don't even go direct.
His wife said that they'll be in the 1%. I replied, 'So...if you have a dream the facts just don't matter?'
Her eyes got real big and she said, 'Exactly. Now you get it.'
I said, 'No, I don't think I do. To me, the facts matter a lot.'
From my side it makes sense, from theirs it doesn't. Didn't start an argument or anything, just let it go at that and continued with some other questions. He was very straight forward on the expenses. $7/tape SOT, $16 amvox, seminars, FED, Reunion, monthly stuff, etc. I plan to add it all up this weekend and see what's what.
Just at a glance I see $1500/yr. minimum.
I asked for documentation of upline sales evidence and got none. But I expected that.
In our last meeting, I pointed out:
1) Sales have fallen 28% in the last two years.
"Doesn't matter"
2) The partner store pay outs are a fraction of Amway pay outs making the break even extremely high.
"Doesn't matter"
3) Only 41% activity - directs etc. (Even after one year in biz, he was not familiar with SA4400.)
"Doesn't matter"
4) I did a brief price comparison of my own and Amway is not cheaper and Quixtar is worse yet.
(I have the 'Quixtar Personal Shopper Catalogue' that he gave me.)
"Did you do a 'per use' comparison?" Sigh. Yes.
I also took with me a list of questions compiled from my own thoughts and websites.
His answers were basically, "don't know, will get back to you on that, and my upline
would know better than I."
It's true, they just go on faith. Amazing. Faith is good. Have some of that myself. I have faith that God is real and I have faith that stepping on the brake will stop the car. But geez, let's look at few #'s and ask why shall we?
He offered to supply tapes and pay for the monthly function if I want to go. I declined.
I'm hoping that somewhere down the line that they'll remember our conversations and know that I wasn't out to bust their dream.
Later,
Russ
P.S. Just as I was typing the salutation the phone rang. It was my favorite Amway recruiter :o). I asked him if I could email him some questions for his upline. He said sure, no problem. Got any questions that you'd like to ask? Have a ton myself

Hi Scott. I have recently been introduced to the Quixstar business. I have only listened to 6 tapes. Being an internet buff, I decided to check them out. I found your page from yahoo. I glad I did! I had a bad feeling about this buz. But you helped me resolve my feelings. I will not be pursuing the Quixstar buz. Thanks for what you have done. Lots of people need to read what you have.

Mr. Larsen,
My friend is trying to get me involved in this quixtar. I have issues with the amount of time you put in and money. He keep on coming up with these arguments I can't refute. First I tell him it's a lot of of time; he responds with it's only 1 phone call a day, ten minutes or an hour at most.
Second I say your only making money if everyone under you buys the quixtar products and you do as well. He says that it's not about selling those products; but buying $250 worth a month of products for the home. Very difficult for a single person like me. He says that it's not a pyramid scheme because he doesn't make money if I join and I can do better than him if I work harder. I read your home page and stuff. Third he mentions he'd be happy making residual $30K a year even if he takes 10 years, is that realistic? Plus all he needs is 6 good people under him. He also says people don't all quit at one time so it's not like he'll lose his residual income at any time. And that the failure rate for this is very small because it's a private franchise. He says that you can make money if you dream big. I've looked at statistics and they show most people don't make
it becaus they give up. Finally he says that it's Quixtar is better than Amway and different because they have this "college" like McDonalds that teach you how to sell the products. This college is a massive support system, called Britt Worldwide and it's so successful. How can I refute all these things? I keep on telling him it takes a lot of work, but he says no it doesn't. It seriously feels like a cult, your right, they have brainwashed him into thinking he will be retiring in 15 years with 150K a year. I would really apprciate some answers. I think that to me and normal people not involved, these are reasonable objections and the answer are false but to him they sound true. Thanks for the time.
Jill
Mr. Larsen,
I just wanted to add another thing my friend would say that you're not buying $180000 products a year just 3000 and then your getting people to join quixtar and change their buying habits to buying online from quixtar.
So it's not selling just changing your buying habits to make money. Does that make sense? Then these people say and I have been to the seminar that the money is made because you buy products at wholesale. Then when other under you do it, if they spend at least $250 a month, you make 100 PV. Then at 7500 PV you make at least 150K a year. Is this all true? How do you argue against it?
jill
Dear Scott,
Well I'm hoping you use any question I might have asked on your web page. My friend refuted mostly everything you wrote except the rules and there he said they aren't used for Quixtar, maybe Amway though. He also said Quixtar can't be negative sum because it pays a person for doing something that they do everyday. It pays someone money for referral marketing to a website, something people do everyday. So overall, you're always earning money. Second the quality of Quixtar products are sooo much better than Wal-Mart, thus the price comparisons are wrong. Because the concentration of the cleaners are higher, so though they cost more, they are supposed to be diluted down and that's how you save money. He said also to make a 100 PV this month he spent only $200 because he followed the chart given by Britt Worldwide.
Britt motivate people, that's why it's a success Quixtar, but Amway which doesn't have Britt might fail more. And that his upline Khalesh, is making 2-3K a month in 1 year. In addition, that he was told a diamond makes 150K a year because he gets half from Britt and half from Quixtar. I don't understand how they can afford to pay so many people money and still make a profit Quixtar? If everything what he is saying is true. Khalesh speaks to my friend everyday to motivate him. I feel bad that there are no finding of how much someone like Khalesh spend to make his 2-3K a month, like how many hours worked, how many hours traveling btw LA and SD to speak and motivate every evening, meeting a few times a week, etc. And when I meet them, Khalesh and his wife, for successful people they sure didn't dress the part of people making an extra 2-3K a month. Please help me refute more. Most of these questions are Quixtar related and hopefully you can interrogate it on your site, since Amway is old news and now they've launched Quixtar.

Stumbled across your site tonight....
AWESOME!
I live in the back yard of these folks up here. Dick & Jay have done wonderful things for Grand Rapids, but we still call it Scamway.
Regards,
Bob

Hi Scott
I am a very confused Scotsman, I don't know if you are aware that the "business" has arrived here. I have been approached by someone who I have known and trusted for years, he has the intention of sponsoring me. While his entheusiasm is overwhealming I was buzzing after reading "Dream-Biz.com" and listening to a few cassette tapes, but I felt I should try and investigate the mother of this new landing on our shores-Quixtar/Amway. I have only been to a couple of seminars which do focus on your dreams rather than reality, and I was relieved to find a more informative source.
Being 20 years old, I am in the position of a promising if somewhat limited career perhaps. You can imagine the stars in my eyes when the plan was explained. Lots of money, more time and a brand spanking new lifestyle. My sponsor is confident he will be rewarded for his efforts and time, and I do actually feel an element of guilt talking about this not to him but to you. I think I will still refer him to this site, yet his confidence is so high I don't think he will even flutter an eyelid.
However I do still see great potential in the "business" especially at this early stage over here.(The site hasn't even been launched yet.) I understand the time and money that optionally could be involved, but nevertheless still see a glimmer of hope.
I am maybe being naive, but would greatly appreciate your views on what I have come forward with.
I don't know if I am the only one from the UK you have had contact from, I may be one of many.
Yours Sincerely
Vincent

Hi, great site. I just got back from a "informal meeting" that a friend from work had about Quixtar. I knew before going that it was probably a pyramid system, but had never heard of it. He had promised me before going that there would be no selling, but from your site I see that he was misinformed. Plus I now have enough info to politely refuse when I see him tommorow. I was wondering why his sponser loaned, rather than give me the tapes he wants me to listen to tonight. And the cost involved in the first year is big, $4,000! I can pay off my credit cards with that, or a 1/3 of my truck loan.
Thanks for the info! Jack

I WROTE YOU 6 MONTHS AGO ABOUT HOW MY SON GOT SUCKED INTO BELIEVING HE WOULD BE A MILLIONAIRE IN 3 YEARS AND EARN AT LEAST $50,000 IN 1 YEAR. HE QUIT SCHOOL. WELL, OF COURSE HE DIDNT. THEY LIED, INCLUDING HIS GIRLFRIEND DISTRIBUTOR. HE QUIT IN JULY, BUT IS SOMEWHAT SCARRED FOR LIFE, ESPECIALLY ABOUT HIS BELIEF IN PEOPLE AND BUSINESS. BUT HE IS OUT OF THE CULT, SO HALELUJAH! I AM RELIEVED.
AMWAY DISTRIBUTORS ARE LUCKY THEY LIVE IN AMERICA WITH FREEDOM OF SPEECH...SOME WOULD BE LOCKED UP IN OTHER COUNTRIES WHEN THEIR DREAMS AND FALSE PROMISES DO NOT COME TRUE.
THANKS FOR BEING THERE AND BEING A LIGHT AVAILABLE TO OTHERS. YOU DO A GREAT
SERVICE.
ALOHA

Dear Scott:
You answer to the last rebuttal makes me think about politics.--"You must be a democrat and you probably voted for Clinton"
What would posses a distributor to say such a thing, I don't know. I don't know what difference it makes either. It if matters, I vote republican most of the time. My site is here to tell the truth and present alternative views to the "wonderful Amway opportunity". I have few rational debates with site readers; all the others have chickened out or couldn't debate rationally and logically."
This is what I fear about MLM: the fraternal/business collectivism potential. What if theology and philosophy can be networked for monetary profit?
What if the day comes when more than financial loss is a stake for leaving Amway? What if "liberty" and "life" were on the line?! Even worse----what if "liberty" and "life" were on the line FOR NOT JOINING Amway?!!
Amway at its core is a political action group/soft money. The main threat lays in its "Networked" "white lies." What if "Networked White lies"--in conjunction with networked monetary bribes--applied to politics/ethics?
Amway meets all the criteria of a Mob or an inner city gang.
They could be exclusionist and isolationist as David Koresh/Jim Jones/Charles Manson just as easily as they are currently inclusionist.
Consider these four phrases: MLM slander, MLM libel, MLM extortion, MLM provocation ... all with an organized monetary incentive.
In other words, what if "Multilevel Social Darwinism" where overtly political and dogmatic against and opposed and to the exclusion to outside beliefs?
Are you familiar with the phrase "tolerate?" For example faggots say I'm "intolerant." But the fact is that it is a prerequisite that you MUST NOT AGREE With the person that you tolerate. Now compare to regenerate Christian's "Sola Fide" that fulfills (for all practical purposes) volitional will. A Christian church AGREES TO AGREE.
But a business--political network can agree to disagree--they can agree to lie, cheat, steal, kill because they need the money--power.
They first thing that will happen is that women will refuse to marry poorer men and their will be divorces for the main reason that marriage will be financially competitive. "Go to hear a business plan and my wife or children will sleep with you if you'll just for signing up and trying it." And if they are Mormons they can ask to sleep with your wives/children if you desperately need them to sign up. After all your wives and children are in your downline so they have an incentive.
Pimps never had it so good.

Hi! I have read allot of your site, and to say the least have found it quite interesting. My husband and I were approached over a year ago to 'join' by a good friend of ours. We had the initial meeting with our friend and his 'sponsor' I guess you would call him. I was immediately turned off. None of my questions were answered, they would give me no literature on what it was, what I would purchase, any prices, or even tell me the name of the company. That was as far as I would go, my husband told him we were not interested, and I must say he never pursued it with us, which I am happy about. I am very opinionated and outspoken and I think he new that he would not change my mind. What is my problem??? About 6 months ago our friend approached my sister-in-law(husband's sister) and she joined hook-line-and-sinker, and it has caused some problems within the family that really upset me. She has asked all the family to join---only one sister has but never uses the site, and goes to none of the meetings(basically just joined to make her sister happy). Now it is my turn. I told her I would not consider it without seeing the site, the products and prices. She has showed me all of that. She left the books with me, I have done the price comparison, and found only one item(out of the 26 that is cheaper). We are gonna get together this week to go over what I have found. She is out of town this weekend to the big gathering in Tennessee(are any of these trips funded by the company, or are they all self-paid??) My question for you, is can you give me any advice on some key issues to talk about besides the pricing?? Are there any things that she is maybe doubting, that I could help her to see how they are conning her?? I am going to try to get her to look at your site, I have probably printed over 300 pages of it to read. She has told us several times that the prime target for the 'business' is college students. I have never understood this. Most college kids would take years to use bulk items(they like to go out for shopping/food), none of the college kids I know would have room to store such mass quantities. I have my own theory on why they target this age group(huge credit card abusers)-what are your thoughts?? Any help or suggestions that you can give me would be greatly appreciated. I will be waiting for any response you have or any further questions I could answer to help you to understand my situation.
