Amway and "rules changes" |
| In light of the current controversy of "non compete agreements",
"mandatory arbitration", and all the other possible restrictions forced
on Amway/Quixtar distributors over time, I'd like to refresh everybody on what Amway's
stand on such restricting rules' additions were from the "Official Amway Career
Manual" L-SA-091L from 1981. It appears the management of the company back then
was a bit more respectful of the distributors rights than the management of today.
It would seem to me that the non-complete agreement added in 2004 deprives distributors of substantial and material property rights, for which they were never compensated. For a company that claims to be for free enterprise, they sure have a habit of trying to restrict free enterprise as much as possible. Oh, I also noticed that Quixtar doesn't mention the "Golden Rule" as the number one guiding principle of running a Quixtar business like the Amway business had in 1981.
Oh, a lot has changed since Rich and Jay ran the company. |
