"My husband and I put in a bid for the state of Texas for cleaning supplies and equipment. It would've been very lucrative and we were assured we would make the bid list, but not necessarily the vendor list. WE DIDN'T MAKE THE VENDOR LIST BECAUSE OUR PRICES WERE TOO HIGH! Mind you, they counted IN THE CONCENTRATION! -----AND WE WERE SELLING TO THEM AT A REDUCED RETAIL PRICE---THAT WOULD GIVE US ONLY 1% ABOVE WHOLESALE! When I questioned how far above we were in price, the agency informed us that we were much higher than any other vendor. They did fully understand the concentration also because that was included in the bid package. Now, Scott, you understand that we were giving them a price that only gave us 1% above OUR price!!! That made me very upset with Amway. Amway products ARE NOT COMPETITIVE IN THE REAL WORLD! Then, I did my own price comparison between H.E.B., Wal-Mart and Amway. In ALL cases, after about 80 products, Amway was the same or more expensive on 98% of the items." Site visitor

Proper comparisons should compare generic to generic in equivalent sizes, at discount stores, if one is to be sold on the "saving money" myth. Catalog products are compared against other premium mail order catalogs and not local discount stores, where the majority of price-conscientious people shop.

"We were told we could have big savings through buying through the company and by encouraging others to do the same, we could make a lot of money." "We couldn't make money even with the product because they were not price competitive. In addition, the prices were not what they were cracked up to be...there was no savings and we ended up spending more than we used to. PV (personal volume...what we get paid on) was a lot lower on a lot of items, not how it was presented to us at all."

The "Power of Concentration": Review of the SA-6546

"Scott,

I wished I saw your sight a little sooner before going into this Quixtar bull. I wasn't in it to make any money. I just wanted a wholesale price on items and if some of my family and friends decided to buy from me, goodie goodie gum drops. Anyway, here's what I wrote them tonight because I believe you're right.

Thanks Allen...one sucker who will not join up again.

This is to inform you that your information you publish and my line of sponsorship claims is not accurate. I was convinced to join as an IBO because I was told that it would save 30 percent on products by purchasing them at wholesale prices. This is not true at all. In fact, I've done comparing in Hawaii to a wholesale store. Price Costco. I've found that not only are your products not saving 30 percent, but they're almost double what I would pay at Costco. I wasn't in this to start no big business or make money. Believing what my sponsor told me, I figured I'd save money just purchasing products at wholesale prices and enjoying the luxury of having the product delivered to my door. If friends and family saw the savings I was making, they'd join and save a the 30 percent I was told about. An example of this is your toilet tissue. I can purchase the same quality name brand 45 roll 2 ply 500 toilet sheet tissue at Costco for $19.99 verses your IBO price of $29.44. I figured if I could buy from Quixtar at the same price as Costco, it would be worth paying the shipping/service charge as long as it wasn't some outrageous charge like some I've already seen and won't pay. Here's another savings of 30 percent. Critic's Choice mayonnaise is 2 64oz for $15.99. I can get a name brand at Costco for $5.49 per 64oz jar. That's a savings alright. Savings at Costco of 30 percent. Now, it is possible to pay some crazy prices for some of these items at a well known grocery store or mall and save maybe 5 percent and at best 10 percent. AND that's living in Hawaii. Well, I made my go at this for a third time since being, basically lied to, tricked into paying a membership fee that is supposed to get me directly connected to the product maker. "Cut the middle man out and save." As I was told. I could go into your irritating business rules of selling 70 percent of your stock, passcode pages, personal home pages and etc...etc. But, I'm satisfied that I've made my point. Unless you do as you advertise, products at lower than suggested retail or at wholesale prices, you're not going to do much in e-commerce. There are true wholesale stores on the web...say Costco...that sell products at 30 percent less than Quixtar. When you really become a true wholesaler, then I'll make a real go at it, but I can't spread information that isn't true or back a no name product like Critic's Choice. Oh...I do like the foot massager. Bad thing is I paid $5 more through Quixtar then if I went to the local drug store (not including shipping either). Last thing. You do have an okay setup of your web site. It still needs work to make it more user friendly to the computer illiterate web surfer. I'm a computer guy and on a scale from 1 - 10 and 10 being good. I'll give you a 7 on ease of use. That's it. Call me when you really become a wholesale distributor. I would slam my sponsor but I figure she's just gullible and is preaching only what she hears."
