Ron Puryear and Isaiah 61

The Birdie-talk reminded me of a talk Ron Puryear gave in  Minneapolis  several years ago. It was his "jubilee-year" motivational speech.

He claimed he was given a message (I can't remember the ministers    name) and it was tied in with Isaiah 61: The Year of the Lord's    Favor. In it he stated:

vs. 1, "the spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon" the business    and "proclaim freedom for the captives" refered to getting out of    debt and away from a job and boss.

vs. 2, "to comfort all who mourn" meant the benefits a person can    derive from being in the business.

vs. 3, "crown of beauty", "oil of gladness", "garment of praise",   etc. refers to more material benefits of being in the business.

vs. 4, "rebuild the ancient ruins" and "renew the ruined cities   that  have been devastated for generations" refers to turning around the   moral collapse that has plagued our country.

vs. 5, "aliens will shepherd your flocks" refers to a growing    business/downline that will grow itself; "foreigners will work your   fields" refers to your business going international.

vs. 6, "feed on the wealth of nations and in their riches you will    boast" is obvious.

vs. 7, references to "double portion", "rejoice in their   inheritance"   and "everlasting joy" are more references to material blessings.

He talked for over an hour, easily, and a buddy taped it. I may  even    have it around because I kept it out of the usual tapes (that have    long become landfill-fodder).

I can still smell the stale popcorn and see all those white shirts   when I think about it. Wow, glad that is history....
